Professional Driver's Choice Microphone

As a professional driver (aka trucker) a microphone gets a lot of use and abuse. There are really only 2 choices, either this one or an RK-56 which used to be a Turner mic and better, but is not since Turner sold the rights to the name. Astatic has been a proven performer for longer than I've been on the air... remember paying $20 for your FCC license to operate a CB? Call signs? Channel 11? Coffee breaks? Only 23 channels? Tubes? This is a proven mic and my 2nd 636. I opted for a "pretty'" one with the metal shielded cable and chrome (trucker, remember?). I still have my last one and it's about 15 years old. This is not an amplified mic like the D-104 so you don't get all the background noises... not to knock the D-104, another great mic but with a different function (had a few of them too.. lollipop and mobile). Vast improvement over original microphones (6 in use), purchased for customer needing better
connection to the plug. Sound quality feedback is excellent. Cord is probably longer than generally>needed but this one doesn't stretch. Looks to be the same as the old pay telephones were using.
