This pump was original equipment on a boat that I had purchased 6 years ago and worked flawlessly until a hook got stuck in it and restricted the float from operating. I replaced it with the exact same model and it was so easy it just stepped into the base and all I had to do was attach three wires and the hose and again it's working flawlessly I would definitely recommend this pump to anyone who has the need for an automatic bilge pumpRead full review...

Short life. Reliability suspect.
This type bilge pump was installed on a new Tidewater boat I recently purchased. The automatic float switch broke in the second year I had the boat so I had to use the manual switch to activate the pump to remove any accumulated water from the bilge. Since I dock my boat in the water for the season, I need a reliable, automatic bilge pump. I believe the retail cost of this bilge pump is excessive. I purchase this pump on Ebay, at a substantially reduced cost. I decided to purchase the same bilge pump for ease of installation, but I am concerned how long it will last. Only needed the bottom strainer which I could not find locally without buying a whole pump like this for much more money. The pump looks new, no packaging or anything with it, but this was not an issue for me. The old pump is 3 years old and still works great, unfortunately the dealer broke the blue plastic strainer on install by using the wrong screws and did not tell me. i mounted it in my 2001 Triton TR20 and it has done a great job. But it's not for the Northern States that have a winter. It freezes up and cracks all over the place. I guess if Boat owners put a lamp in their BoT from Halloween to March 15th this product would be great.Read full review...
