...A platform jumper?

Many of us were not pleased by the low quality of the first Avatar video game, in terms of such things as graphics, and the fact that it made little sense in terms of the official plot lines. If you were one of those people, then do NOT buy this one.

The game takes only two hours to fully complete. There is no real ending. After what seems like a normal level, you are treated to a text box that tells you, "Congratulations! You have completed the game." Upon seeing this message only two hours into play time, I screamed and threw the controller. I paid $40 for a two hour game?!

Secondly, this game is nothing like the first. In the first Avatar game, Your party of four characters roams through rather large areas completing quests and finding loot. It's actually not that bad. It's fun if you're really into Avatar, like I am. But even for a hardcore fan, this game was not worth the money. There really are no quests, just objectives, and the game is completely linear. It's a platform jumper. You jump from platform to platform along the levels, and eventually, when you've jumped to the correct platform, your mission is fulfilled. The game is also very buggy. Unlike the first game, you cannot choose which characters you are playing. Two characters are in a the scenes at a specific time, and the game itself determines which two. Sometimes the pairings make no sense at all. And either of those characters can get completely stuck in some part of the landscape. There is one chest in the swamp area that would stick a character whenever it was opened. No matter what I did, how many buttons I mashed (button mashing is how you fight boss battles, by the way. There is no strategy involved), or how much I swore, there is no getting a character away from an object once he or she is stuck. You have to reset the game, losing all progress you may have made in the process.

This game is supposed to follow the timeline of the second season, but rather seems loosely based on it. So many details are changed that this game is not the second season at all, but rather an interpretation of the second season by either a monkey or a really bad fanfic writer. The plot points make sense, but they are not consistent with the second season at all. In the real Avatar world, Katara NEVER puts out fires in a random Water Tribe village. The Earth King never actually sees what is beneath Lake Laogai, let alone destroy it (which we learn from a random comment). And why in the world does the dreaded drill come AFTER the Earth King is told about the war? He's standing on the freaking wall with you, watching the thing approach! As we fans know, he doesn't see the drill until LONG after it has been defeated.

Beware the drill level. If you actually buy this trainwreck, you'll see why.

Slightly different from how i remember

Playing this game brought back so many memories. I never really paid attention to the graphics, so i didn’t realize how weird it would look on a flatscreen. There’s a few glitches in the game where characters don’t move their mouth when talking, but i don’t know if that has to deal with the disc itself. Otherwise, grateful to own the game.Read full review...

Heads up,

There's no holding back in this action game. Great cut-scenes come along and add more depth to the story. You will never let up on the remote control. It's a marvelous game!

He has to keep the firelord from conquering the rest of the world. He has already conquered and wiped out all the airbenders except for Aang. Now he and his friends he meets along the way must defeat the firelord. Avatar the last airbender: Burning earth is a sqeul to the last game and is based on the events in season two of avatar the last air bender.Read full review...

Burning earth

The kids like it. We have an older ps2 and the kids like the series Avatar The Last Airbender so the were excited about playing the game. The graphics is typical ps2. Can't say much about the game itself because I haven't played it. The graphics are better in this one the Burning Earth than the Last Airbender, the first game.Read full review...

It is okay but not as good as the first Avatar game.

I played the first Avatar playstation game and loved it so I bought this one to continue the story. This game I dont think is as good as the first. It is the story line from the shows and nothing added to it. I do not feel there is as much to do as there was in the first game so I get bored quicker with it.Read full review...

Avatar-The Burning Earth

Avatar tries to stop the Fire Nation from invading the Earth Kingdom!!! My son loves playing this game. He thinks it is up to him to stop the bad guys. Works great for me to I can "bribe" him to get extra chores done to earn a little extra play time.Read full review...
