This is a used, original BMW switch in great condition at a price about $100 less than new. It fit my 1997 Z3 exactly. Just be sure it fits your car before you order. Pull (push) out your old switch and check it's base. This one has a yellow base that attaches to a small yellow wire. Some BMW's of that era use a white based switch that plugs into a large pin block attachment (They're readily available for about 5 bucks.) Whichever you need they are a good buy. It works like magic. I push the button one way and my window goes down. If I push it the other way the window goes up. If you want you BMW to do the same I would highly recommend you buy one
