ONE OF THE BEST! sounds great TRUE METAL
yes of course, Manowar are the proponents of "true metal," heavy metal music that is the opposite of "looking glamorous and playing weak" yes this is HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY METAL that stands for some-thing! this re-issue CD sounds awesome and it is important to have Manowar's first album...the only thing that is weird about this re-issue is the spine of the CD says "ROCK CLASSICS" when as we all know MANOWAR is METAL, not "mere rock"...Read full review...
About Battle Hymns
Great commercial success of their debut album did not and after its release, EMI has terminated the contract with the group. Battle Hymns is the most unusual album. Songs like Fast Taker and Death Tone likely made in the spirit of the classic hard rock, but not epic metal, which is characteristic for the group. Nevertheless, the song Battle Hymn and the Dark Avenger designed in the traditional style of Manowar.
Many songs addressed social issues such as unemployment, a protest against his home and the war in Vietnam. On later albums the musicians to such themes almost did not return.Read full review...
