Battleship - Great CGI effects, formulaic plot, good entertainment overall!

You might consider this movie as Transformers on the high seas, but it is more entertaining than some of those efforts. You know the end result part way through the film. The characters are based on a cookie cutter plotline; Liam Nesson as the crusty admiral who is warm-hearted under that thick skin, Taylor Kitsch as the young, rebellious officer who rises to the challenge and Rihanna as a seaman (remember Cuba Gooding Jr. in "Pearl Harbor") whose fighting skills become readily apparent. The humanoid-like aliens remind me of warriors from an ancient Babylonian culture. The highlight of the movie is seeing the battleship USS Missouri (Mighty Mo) back in action - the aliens don't have a chance! Excellent Blu-ray picture and sound, so crank it up and enjoy a good evening's entertainment.Read full review...

A good movie for a quiet evening

the movie was surprisingly good, Naval aspect was excellent, and I enjoyed seeing the Mighty Mo even if it was computer generated for the action scenes. Battleship is a fun game to play and a fun movie to watch!

Battleship is based on a popular board game! Its primed to explode with alot of action. This movie might have bombed at the box office but I have found this movie to be very fun to watch. Its explosive and action packed. It might not have much of a plot but its a summer blockbuster action movie, what did you expect?. Alien invasion and war battles! Entertaining!!!!

Very good special effects, and an interesting story. If you have ever played Battleship as a kid, you will really enjoy this movie.
