Sexy character, spells, guns and gameplay

How I sorely wish this game was made for PlayStation 4. I'd buy the remastered in a heartbeat. I had to keep my old Xbox 360 just to continue playing.
Graphics are good. Gameplay rocks. Lots of shooting and killer execution spells.
And what can you say about, Bayonetta, the main character? Nothing bad. She's a sexy witch who gives a who new view to the light versus the dark. Makes you think twice about that whole "Angel" hierarchy .lol
And her outfit is Hella sexy.
Love the storyline too. She finds out about her past and the twisted schemes of the "light".

Not what I hoped.

This isn't a bad game by any means. It's dripping with style and has some great presentation. However, the characters didn't connect with me and the game play is repetitive. But I get why some have fond memories of this game. Perhaps if I played this when it came out I'd feel the same. Regardless the price point of this game is fair enough that I think it's worth taking a chance on if you enjoy DMC style games or looking for a solid back compatible 360 game for your XBone on the cheap.Read full review...

Bayonetta( Xbox 360,2010 )

Description
Bayonetta is a stylish and cinematic action game, directed by Hideki Kamiya. A witch with powers beyond the comprehension of mere mortals, Bayonetta faces-off against countless angelic enemies, many reaching epic proportions, in a game of 100% pure, unadulterated all-out action. Outlandish finishing moves are performed with balletic grace as Bayonetta flows from one fight to another. With magnificent over-the-top action taking place in stages that are a veritable theme park of exciting attractions, Bayonetta pushes the limits of the action genre, bringing to life its fast-paced, dynamic climax combat.

Special Features
# Groundbreaking Gameplay — Bayonetta, the game, is all about action. From the controls to the finishing moves, Bayonetta is positioned to be about pure action gameplay
# Hair: Her hair serves as the basis of her costume and also her attacks and powers. These manifest in different ways: Wicked Weave attacks, Torture Attacks, and Climax Attacks
# Upgradeable weapons -In addition to her four enchanted guns called Scarborough Fair, she can unlock an array of weapons from shotguns, bazookas and fiery claws
# Enemy weapons - Bayonetta can also battle with a variety of other weapons retrieved from fallen enemies
# Beast Within - Bayonetta calls upon primal forces, transforming into various beasts (Panthers, etc.) according to the situation

Warnings
Blood and Gore,Intense Violence,Partial Nudity,Strong language,Suggestive Themes

That's what you'd want in ANY RPG. I like this because, well, I'm a guy ;)!And what you can do with her is intense. What I don't like is sometimes it's just too much for you to get out of and it's too difficult in MANY places.Other than that it's worth every penny spent.

Cheesy, but fun...

First of all this is a beautiful game. The colors, sound, characters, etc. are very vibrant and interesting. The one thing that can get annoying after a while is the cheesy one liners. Don't get me wrong, they're funny at first, but get really old really fast. After a while they just become straight up annoying.

Story is kind of all over the place and disjointed. However, this game was obviously built around sex appeal versus a deep story line. This game seems kind of insulting to guys in the sense that is plays off the idea that we're sex machines. Bayonetta's suit frequently flies of during combos, cut scenes are super-suggestive along with the dialogue. It makes me sick...

Who am I kidding...I LOVE THOSE THINGS!!! If you are a hardcore gamer that never gets to go outside, this is a great game for you.

Seriously though, this game is innovative, fun, annoying, sexy, cheesy and well-made. The biggest complaint that I have is that there is a fairly large learning curve. It really takes a while to master the combo system. The loading screens let you practice combos which is cool -- BUT -- it's much different practicing on one enemy standing still than being in battle against twenty enemies that are all busting you to pieces.

Excellent Game!!

This game is a typical "Slash and Dash" game, like devil may cry, but with a stylish and acrobatic moves.

This is a very fun game to play, if you like "devil may cry" like games, then you will surely love this one.

Game mode between easy and normal is too different. If you set it easy, it becomes too easy, but if you set it to normal, then you will surely have a hard time beating bosses as you progress in the game. This is the only part I consider should have been a little more balanced.

This game will surely keep you throwing your fingers to the buttons until you can.

Decent not great

Older game, great value. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the gameplay. Story was mildly interesting, fans of anime and sexual graphics will love it.

Bayonetta is the game to play for 2010!

After reading an article on the preview of this game & the effort the developers claimed they put into Bayonetta I decided to see if they did right on their promise.

On the surface Bayonetta goes in line with Ninja Gaiden & Devil May Cry as a third person game. After you take more of it in though, you start to see why it is a contender with other GOTY nominations.

Pros-short version
A wide variety of combinations, spells, etc. makes for epic battles when you start to fine tune your skills. You never restricted by the mechanics or gameplay.

Amazing animation/graphics. You can easily see that no shortcuts were made both in level design & characters.

Cons-
Even with some 3rd person veterans playing I noticed there is a learning curve.
The one liners get kind of stale after a while but it doesn't away fomr playing.

Every console has their small list of games you HAVE to play. Bayonetta is one of them.

Confusing if you are not use to this type of game

Confusing if (me) you are not use to this type of game, its a flip/flop all over the screen and button mash combos - type of game.

When I first started this game, the cut scene is long and when I finally took control of the game character, I was "oh, I can play now.." and then there are more cut scenes, I think this game isnt my type, it almost wants to play itself (via long cutscenes) and only allows me snippets of being involved.

If you are into these type of button mashing combos fighting games, go for it. For me, I will return back to Call of Duty Black Ops and Halo Reach.
