reasonable enough at $6.
It actually works on some steel products as well as alloy and alumiunum. The cheaper the metal, the better it stains.
I can use it along with Birchwood Casey Gun Blueing as an additional coat to get the metal darker, faster. I think it also adheres better than the Blue solvent alone.Read full review...

Worked For Me But..
Little disappointed with the marker, as I have had this pen for cold blue on steel, and that worked great!. I followed the instructions to a T, but it took several applications to get the look I wanted. I actually believe the pen is an excellent way of covering small scratches and scuffs. I really got the feeling the pen had dried out. The pen wasn't giving the coverage when I marked over a damaged area. So, in conclusion.. If you have a small scuff or scratch on aluminum you wanna hide, it will work.. It may take several applications.. Then again, I may just have a dried out pen.. idk Read full review...

Perfect for milspec lowers, & other aluminum AR parts.
Used on a Milspec lower that U accidentally dinged up after removing a bolt catch roll pin. Worked great! If u never used one of these pens, just know that the felt tip is white & the actual chemical is clear. I thought it was gonna be a dark colored liquid/chemical & that I needed to push down on the tip of the felt to get the chemical to start flowing, similar to a paint pen. But that's not the case. Just uncap & apply. I used very little at 1st & thought it wasn't working, till I saw the the bare aluminum start to darken. Took 2 coats to achieve the shade I needed. If u like building custom/unique AR's, & want em looking perfect when they're done, or just wanna keep ur AR lookin nice, than this is a very useful lil tool to add to ur kit. Cuz we all know, u can't win a gunfight with an ugly gun, lol!...*FYI: there is a lot of liquid on the felt, especially when new, so take the top of the pen off slowly cuz if u take it off fast u can sling some of the chemical onto areas u don't want it on!*Read full review...

GREAT Stuff !
This is great stuff ! originally bought it to repair a new flashlight that got dropped down a flight of stairs. Had to give it 2 coats to get a matching finish but it worked perfectly. It worked so well that I then used it to repair some scratches on an old AR15, again it took a couple of coats but I was surprised at how well it matched. Read full review...

Great for Touchups
I use the liquid version for large projects, and the pen for small touchups as it is easier to control.

It works
Been using these for years. I keep them in my cleaning kit and touch up areas once a year when I clean. I shoot a lot more than most but I don’t clean but once or twice a year.

Not the gun blue pen.
The discontinued gun blue pen served a great role in minor scratches on service weapons and carry pieces, this just slightly oxidizes aluminum.
