Highly recommend!! You won't be disappointed!

This author is like my "Crack" so to speak..lol...

I enjoyed getting to know "V" as well as the revelations to his parentage. (Didn't see that one coming)The trip down memory lane to the "Camp" was heartbreaking, but explained a lot as to why "V" is the way he is. True? (LoL sorry I had to.)

Unlike the other poster who couldn't deal with the S&M stuff, I personally found it to be tame compared to what I expected. It was well written, and a very small part of the story. (2 scenes) If you can deal with a table, restraints, a mask, and some candle wax, then by all means, read the book.

The only thing I found strange was the entire Shellan thing at the end. Can't say more without giving it away, but it just didn't mesh well. Yes it gave a reason for his hand, (other then healing Butch) but I wasn't impressed with that.

I'm anxious for Phury's story, and I believe Darious is reincarnated in John. Hence all the backstory on him in this book, with his odd visions, and knowledge. The diary and John should prove an intersting combo.

My least favorite Ward book, to date

I enjoyed some of V's story. I was sad to read that V was hurt badly by his father/mother. The author cleared up Alot of mysteries, only to add new ones. I enjoyed learning more about the Chosen and the SV. Plus, who V's mother is!And Payne's identity is revelaled......

My major beef, however, is with the BDSM content of the book. IMO, it was "too much" for a mainstream romance book. I found myself very uncomfortable with the descriptions of V's previous sexual encounters, his "equipment/toy box" and with some of the sexual encounters he had with his heroine, although it was consensual.

The heroine, while she is strong, I didn't find myself sympathizing with her too much. I would have liked her to be a "little" more vulnerable.

Also, there is an increasing amount of foul language and drug references in this book. I, for one, believe you can ususally get your point across with out swearing.

This book, also has an "different" manner of an HEA. There is an HEA, but it isn't conventional. It was a TOTAL TURN OFF FOR ME!!!!!!!!

If some BDSM or a rather unconventional ending doesn't bother you, you may enjoy this book. But for me, it is my least favorite in the series to date.

I LAUGHED AND I CRIED ~ FABULOUS BOOK!

This is the 5th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by JR Ward. I have really enjoyed then all! Lover Unbound is about the Vampire Vishous. He is a hunter with Brotherhood. He has the ability to see into the Future...A Very Destructive Curse in his mind! He has no interest in love or any emotion. When he is injured and rushed to a human hospital will Dr.Jane Whitcomb be able to save this Ruthless and Brilliant Vampire? I laughed and I cried....A must read book! I do recommend you read this series in order as the story continues from book to book. ~FABULOUS BOOK!

See my Guides for the reading order for this series.

lover unbound by j.r. ward

BACK OF BOOK SAYS:

RUTHLESS AND brilliant, Vishous son of the bloodletter, possess a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. as a pre trans growing up in his father's war camp, he was tormented and abused. as a member of the brotherhood, he has an interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the lessening society.but when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon. dr. jane whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that can not include her.

this book is very heart wrenching, between what his father did to him and the fact that his mother could very well have helped him and didn't.

interesting stuff with phury.

my pet peeve semi resolved: that the hero/heroine recognized their love and well they did do that for your own good, but it wasn't as fustrating as it's been previously. but it was heart wrenching.

nice "moments" was what v did with his mom at the end and what she did with manny.

also some more info with john matthew.

AWESOME

Ever since the first book in the series, I have waited on pins and needles for the next. These books are fantastic! The characters (especially the Brothers)seem so totally real, with real strengths and weaknesses. They all have distinct personalities, as well. V's story was very intriguing and insightful. This book was full of feeling, both emotional and sexual. I think all of the sex scenes in the book were tastefully expressed and the agony of V's past encounters came through crisp and clear. I haven't finished the book yet, but I'm getting close and have absolutely loved every page! I am hoping that the wait for Phury's story isn't a long one and I also can't wait to see John's story. Will there be a finish for Tohrment? Please keep us all informed !!!Read full review...
