BlackBerry Bold 9000

The Bold is my first smart phone, having used mobile phones for over 10 years. Rather than list what is already in the specs I will share what I like most and use most on this phone.

Mobile Internet: This is a great feature on any smart phone. The screen size and brightness and the easy scroll wheel make navigating sites easy. Also the qwerty keyboard makes it possible to actually type into boxes or searches so as to make the internet accessible.Read full review...

Blackberry Bold 9000

It's a bit on the heavy side. IF you are coming from an older BB Curve, then you will notice the gain in weight of the Bold. It's not iPhone and it's not trying to be. It is really suited for the "business" type. Push email is awesome and same with the BBM (Black berry messenger)
Of course a Data plan is needed to use those features and that is carrier dependent.

Things to look out for this phone is the track-ball that dies prematurely (but is an easy fix) and poor battery life (turn of Wifi when not in use to conserve battery life)

All in all I give this a 9 out 10 for a Smart Phone.

BLACKBERRY BOLD 9000

The RIM BlackBerry Bold boasts one of the sharpest displays we've seen on a smartphone and offers great multimedia performance. The smartphone also brings HSDPA support, more productivity tools, and an updated OS. Other goodies include Wi-Fi; GPS; Bluetooth; and strong e-mail support with full QWERTY keyboard. It is one of the top smart phones to have from Blackberry and it is very nice to use for personal use. A MUST BUY FOR FIRST TIME BLACKBERRY OWNERSRead full review...

From Apples to Berries

I gave up my iPhone for a Blackberry Bold, and have not one single regret. I'm glad I used an iPhone for a while because I would have wondered if I'd made the right choice w/the BB. But I'm not a touch-screen, iPhone kinda gal. The Blackberry has more of a learning curve, and I've needed to work with my carrier to get some features tweaked (but that's with any smartphone really). It's been worth it. The BB has all the email, messaging, calendar and other apps (along with sync-age of course) that I needed and in particular the document production features are delightfully accessible and easy to use. Contrary to selling agent's promises, iPhone does NOT have the same accessibility and ease of use compared to iPhone. The BB keyboard though small is surprisingly easy to use, much easier than the touch screen. My accuracy has increased and I can use full sentences again! (I have to say I missed the tactile feeling of manipulating the phone; I felt like I was groping in the dark sometimes with iPhone.) Gorgeous screen, better call quality than the iPhone. I haven't set up the music feature yet, but there is an app that will allow me to access my iTunes library. The Home menu was better on the iPhone but you take the not-so-great with the great when great far outweighs not-so. The iPhone still is for surfers, gamers, and media/music buffs, not business. All in all this was an excellent and happy choice for me.Read full review...

RIM Blackberry Bold 9000

I like most everthing about this phone. Too bad AT&T doesn't support it well. Wanted to get a new one when I killed my old one but could not so bought a used one privately. Apps are easily available and music radio can be accessed in about any genre you could want. Again AT&T has some pretty poor coverage in most of my area & that is the only limitation. Usually, internet works fine, screen is bright & pictures/videos easy to take. Have taken this phone to Japan and it worked GREAT! I have relatively short fingers & I can use it with one hand pretty easily. If there is a limitation it might be the trackball. An optical scroller might be better but after a year or so don't know. I would not trade my 9000 for the TORCH, Pearl or i-phone. RIM has a winner here even though is't getting a little "long in the tooth" these days. For those of us that like (need) the tactile feel this is a great phone, Androids not withstanding.Read full review...

Good Phone

THis is a good sturdy phone that still has the track ball. I has every feature I was looking for without the pain of the newer non track ball mouse. The keys are fairly widely spaced.

The only complaint I have is the internal memory is smaller then I would like but with the hot swapable SD card it more then makes up for it.

If you need a blackberry and do not need a touch phone this is the way to go.

The Bold 9000 is a well made device with an easy to use keyboard.

I have been a fan of "Blackberry" phones for awhile. When my Blackberry Curve 8520 suffered from the dreaded WSOD- I purchased the Blackberry Bold 9000. The Bold is Larger and Heavier than the Curve but with much of the same features. The Bold has a Trackball- but I like the Track-pad on The Curve better. The Bolds keyboard is easier to use and it seems to be a well made phone. Overall I like the Bold 9000 but will probably go back to the Curve in the future because I like the smaller, lighter model with the track-pad better.Read full review...

LOVE IT!

The BB Bold 9000 is worth every penny. It's easy to use, responds quickly, and has a nice size display. If you're considering moving up from a Pearl to a Bold, like I did, you won't be disappointed. Just remember it is wider, so if you have small hands it will fill them up.

The textured battery cover is great - minimizes slippage!

Another tid-bid... if you're going from a non-BB smartphone to a BB, your rate plan will be changed. For some reason the service provider has a special data connection for BB's than other smartphones and the monthly charge is a little more.

Regardless, I LOVE MY BB BOLD 9000!

Amazing phone

I've had iPhone's for the longest, since they came out. Thought it was finally time to try out the competitor, so I got the 9000 Bold and I see why it's the runner up.. (in GSM) very high def screen and external memory. I can.. "sync" it to more than one computer and things don't get "lost" in the internet like I've sadly had to go through with the iPhone..Takes a little while to get used to all the setting these phones have to pound on you. Where iPhone is so simple no wonder I saw so many children and teenagers with them. Blackberry surprised me a lot this time around and I look forward to my upgrade...Don't know what it'll be though...4G or whatever BB comes out with next. I know this was more of a comparison than a review. But it's MY person experience. Thanks for reading :)Read full review...
