Sharp before it's time.

I remember this as a great game growing up. Konami has always realeased games that turned out to great fun with little to get angry about and this was no exception. "Blades of Steel!", anounces the title screen, something very rare for video games of the time. Considering it came out in 1988, the graphics are very detailed and the moves look realistic. It is easy to shoot and pass with pretty good acuracy. The fact that the person you control is flashing very quickly helps immeditely identify who you are. There is a really neat close-up screen when a fight breaks out on the ice where you get to duke it out with the other team. Detailed action screens also finish off the penalty shots that break-out adding a great effect to the shot. A lot of time was put into the extras of this game and it really shows. This really is one of the most fun hockey games ever. PEACE*LOVE*ONERead full review...

Greatest hockey game in history!

Greatest hockey game ever made, hands down! I don't know a single person that has played this game that would disagree with that statement. First hockey game to feature fighting and still over 25 years later one of the few NES titles I will always keep an extra copy of. I can not praise this game enough!
Not quite sure how many games in the '80s featured mini games, but between periods if someone has not played the game yet, they are in for a treat! I would recommend this game to anyone, my kids, my parents, the Pope, Miley Cyrus, Axl Rose, Carrot Top, Seal, Bono, Cher, anyone with 1 name, anyone that can appreciate a game such as this. Thank you!

SECOND TIME I PURCHASED BLADES OF STEEL.I LOVE IT.

I LOST THE ORIGINAL COPY OF BLADES OF STEEL WHILE MY WIFE AND I WERE MOVING.IN FACT WE CALL IT THE MOVE FROM HELL AS IT WAS THE MOST DISORGANIZED MOVE OF OUR LIVES.I REALLY LOVE THE GAME BUT HAV'NT PLAYED IN YEARS.

IT'S GAME THAT IS EASY TO LEARN AND PLAY.IT TAKES LITTLE EFFORT
AND I EVEN FIND IT RELAXING AT TIMES.THE ONLY THING I DON'T LIKE ABOUT IT IS THE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS ARE NOT IN THE TEAM LISTING.(MY HOME TEAM)

I HAVE ONLY PLAYE ONE OTHER HOCKEY GAME AND CAN'T REMEMBER THE TITLE OR MANUFACTURER,BUT I DID NOT CARE FOR IT.I LOVE BLADES.

Old School Hockey at it's best!

What other hockey game does the announcer yell "Fight"?! Fighting does get tough at the pro level and you really have to use your blocks and punches effectively. Wait, is this a hockey game?! Yes! And it rocks! I take the Leafs to the "Cup" on the reg., although they call it the "Pro Tournament". There aren't names and stats but this is a great game to play with friends! Shots, Shots, Shots after every goal makes it even more fun! 818, beach front avenue.Read full review...

Great game for a great price

This is one of my all time favorite games. I played it as a kid when I was probable 4-5 years old and played it till the super Nintendo came out. I recently have gone back and started playing all the old systems I had growing up and this was one of the first games I had to get besides duck tales, and little nemo these three game are my NES go to games. I'm not a sports game person at all, there are probable 3-4 sports games I play and this is my favorite. It is very simple to play and master. There are fights in it also. What kid would not like a game with some fights in it. Graphics are not the best for the NES but still for when this game came out in 88 or 89 it was sickRead full review...

Hockey Fights!!

This game is great and its not just the Hockey Fights!

This game and Ice Hockey are both worth owing as they both provide fun game play and different game play.

If you like nintendo I suggest this game. Although you don't have a season or career this game is fun to play.

This game is great to play against a friend and the controls are easy so you can pick it up right away.

Buy this game its a classic.

An Oldie But A Goodie

The flow and action of this hockey game is natural and addictively fun. Its the best sports related game ever made for Nintendo's original NES system. If you own one you can't miss picking up this title. The fight feature is outstanding and a bonus treat. Bump into an opponent repeatedly and a fight breaks out in a new screen and the loser skates one man short for a bit. This game is the only real reason many hockey fans and non-fans alike keep holding on to their old NES consoles. GAME ON!Read full review...
