Very pleased with the BLT-2 Bluetooth receiver

Having read good reviews about the competitors much more expensive Audioengine b1, I decided to look for a Bluetooth (BT) receiver that was not at the bottom of the price scale, but somewhere in between.

After looking at many different brands and options (which include NFC, "3D sound", headphone amplifier, etc), I decided to go with the bluDento BLT-2 because:

- Construction of the unit is solid and pretty similar to the Audioengine b1. It has the same location for the led, antenna, power input, etc. The aluminum profile extrusion is pretty similar and the use of socket head screws is the same.

- The DAC used in the b1 is the AKM AK4396. The BLT-2 uses the Texas PCM5102A which at a quick glance of the specs, seems to be equal or better.

- Connectivity of the BLT-2 is better, given the option of coaxial output that does not exist in the b1.

I received the unit 15 days after placing my order, in a very solid box, neatly packed. I did notice that nowhere in the box is bluDento or BLT-2 written. BLT-2 shows up in the instruction booklet, but not on its cover. By the way, the booklet is written in clear English.

The unit included RCA, 3.5mm stereo to RCA, Optical and power USB cables. It does not include the 5V, 200mA power adapter required, which is somewhat disappointing. I used the RCA cables and noticed them to be flimsy, and they connect loosely both on the BLT-2 and amplifier. I would prefer to feel them to be snug and somewhat beefier.

I took the unit apart to check the quality of the electronics, and found it to be very well designed and very well constructed. I was gladly surprised.

Pairing and connecting to Bluetooth sources is a breeze. It works flawlessly. I did not experience sound interruptions even when I was using the source to transfer music files via Bluetooth, while at the same time playing music through the BLT-2
Not having another BT receiver to compare to, I decided to compare the quality of the sound by playing an original CD in my sound system CD player, and the ripped mp3 at 320kbps playing on my laptop. I noticed that the CD reproduction gave better bass, and a more realistic presentation than the mp3 files through the BLT-2, but in any case good bass and clean trebles, as well as good dynamic range were present. I then decided to play the same mp3 files on my Galaxy Note-4 phone; my surprise was that there was almost no difference to the quality of the sound from the CD player!! So keep in mind, that your BT source has a lot to do with the quality of the sound.

It is my opinion that most listeners will be very satisfied with the BLT-2.

I would suggest to Shezhen Audio Tech, the manufacturer of the BLT-2 to:

- Include the power adapter
- Include a power switch
- Include slightly better RCA cables
- Perhaps consider producing a BT receiver that includes a USB port as to stream music from a USB memory stick.

In any case, I am pleased with my decision, and did order a second BLT-2 for my friend.

Nice quality, good sound and looks fantastic.

Great little reciever with fantastic range and good sound. Looks high-end/expensive :-).
And my kids can stream music on my stereo/hi-fi.
Thanks Bludento for a great product.

The only negative thing I can come up with is that it has no protection on the bluetooth. Anyone in range can connect, but its not not like an other phone can hijack it while you are connected/playing music.
(It could have been perfect with a button for pairing mode)

At last a high quality product at an affordable price!

I bought this unit for my second system after doing some research. I stumbled across this through looking for the Audioengine unit. I figured how bad can this alternative be....actually this was a pleasant surprise at such an affordable price. I have only had a few minutes of listening time and i think it executes its task well - sounds crisp and clear (to my ears)...dont know if it needs some running in time. Very simple to setup/connect. Impressed with the build quality too - its solid. May be getting another one for my third system! Highly recommendedRead full review...

Excellent device with fantastic sound and low latency

First of, I am impressed about build quality, features, sound, latency and stability of the BT connection.
If I had one wish I would prefer the blue LED stopping to blink after a minute or two as soon as the BT connection has been disconnected. This is the only advantage of my Audioengine B2 but it has a much higher price.
All in all I would urgently recommend this fine device.

Classy, good range, great audio quality

I’ve had this unit for a few months now. Its' very well built, looks very classy in blue/black.

The Bluetooth link always links up fast to my Android (7.1.1) phone. The range is very good, easily still works when in the next room, through two walls. I mainly use the optical out - but have used the analog out as well. Nice that all 3 (RCA, optical, coax) work at the same time. No hickups/dropouts while playing music, no pops or clicks when making or breaking the BT connection or when powering it on and off, and very high signal to noise ratio (no background hiss). I use this as my main way of listening to music (through active speakers & a FIR miniSHARC DSP crossover, using the BG Neo3 and Neo8 tweeter & midrange planars, so these are very revealing).

The blue LED is a little bit bright for my liking but could be fixed by placing a black dot in the middle? Others might not find this a problem.

Bludento BLT-2

After received the item, I put it to the test and if I can hear a difference between any Bluetooth devices available that I have and YES! I can hear it. It's an improvement in sound.
At the moment, i'm still burning it in and see if the sound would open up more in which I can tell it will because after a few hours listening to it I can hear it's starting to open up a bit more. The sound is more defined in sound in three dimensions.
I've been skeptical about having music playing via Bluetooth until now.
A truly revolution for the conveniences for those who love music.
Recommended.
Thanks Bludento.

Just buy it.

I have been using the receiver hooked up to my stereo for over 3 months now, and it works great. Three different devices have been connected and used - at different times of course - laptop, PC, and android phone. The PC is in a different room and there is no problem with the signal - clean and no drops/stutters. Support has been the best - recently had a problem(which turned out to be on my computer, not the receiver), and they walked me through the diagnostics and the fix!Read full review...

Works , good quality , good sound quality , interfaces well with a receiver

It works well , using the fiber audio output and it's much better then any cheap Bluetooth speakers that's for sure . My stereo system is 5-6 years old so it lacks Bluetooth so this is a nice add-on. Read full review...

The best cost-to-quality BT receiver

Easily the best buy for a Bluetooth receiver I've used. With a good DAC feeding RCA outputs and two digital outputs that can all run simultaneously this is perfect for audiophiles. I can feed one system with RCA one external DAC with the coaxial and a system directlty wth the optical. The built in DAC sounds good to my ears on all my systems. I like that the device stays on, so pairing is fast (unlike my old BT receiver that timed out and shut down). The build quality is exellent, the reception is exellent, the look is exellent. I can't find a flaw in this thing. Read full review...
