Took a while to get used to but now it's great

It took me a few tries to figure out how to get things to link and unlink using this type of dongle with my laptop, which for some reason was made without an internal bluetooth feather (HP15 Laptop). I figured out that the software that came with it was actually a problem when installed, so I uninstalled it and let the dongle work without it. I recommend trying it without first, if possible. I then found that the connection for the bluetooth to get a new device to hook-up to it was in a different location, down at the bottom right of my desktop screen, a bluetooth icon that you click on - you have to look for it. It's a bit complicated, but worth it once you figure it all out. Now I simply find the icon, click it, click on Add a Bluetooth Device, and go from there.Read full review...

DO NOT BUY! CRASHES PC!

So iv'e had this for about 2 weeks and it worked great for what i'm using it for. Now today the Bluetooth stopped working. So I decided to unplug it and re-plug it back in to see if that would do the trick. Nope. It just crashes(blue screen) my PC as soon as it got plugged again. So my computer restarts and then crashes again. I unplug the Bluetooth adapter and fully shutdown and power up my PC and, thank god, it works again. I'm not using this thing again since I fear my computer might break. So please don't buy this! You will put your computer at risk, spend more money on a well known branded adapter.Read full review...

Easy to implement missing Bluetooth connectivity

I have to admit I was prepared for this to be more difficult than it was. I acquired a wireless keyboard for use with my Windows XP video recorder, but it was missing the pre-integrated dongle for the keyboard. I purchased the CSR4.0 in order to connect that keyboard and I found it provided what I needed and much more since it is a fully functional USB Bluetooth adapter that integrated seamlessly with the operating system - completely plug-and-play.

Initially I found some connectivity problems in my configuration when the CSR4.0 adapter was plugged into a USB on the back of the machine (even connecting from less than 10 feet away). When I moved it to the front using an extension I had no more trouble with it. It connects to all devices according to documented Microsoft procedures.

The only con with the adapter is that it constantly flashes its blue light and since the DVR machine is often used in a dark room I will need to find a way to dim or block the light.

Generic Bluetooth Adapter that works, I guess

Well it works as stated, connects Bluetooth devices to computers that lack Bluetooth. The range isn’t great, couldn’t move more that 2 feet away without my Xbox One Controller dropping the connection or my buttons wouldn’t work. Also had an issue connecting more than one device, tried to connect my Xbox One Controller and Headphones. They both were connected for about 10 minute then my headphones dropped connection, had to restart and repair pair the headphones but could get the controller to pair. Spend a little more money on the Asus Bluetooth adapterRead full review...

Bluetooth

The Bluetooth worked but it didn't do too well for my laptop it's an older laptop and I was trying to connect to the internet with my old little dongle and it didn't connect very well was hit and miss so I was hoping this upgraded one would connect better and it did not not saying that there's anything wrong with that Bluetooth but it just didn't do the distance and it's not like I'm far away because my house is only 802 square feet so I'm two rooms away but I'm sure it would work for the most part for things that you want to use it forRead full review...

Connection Issue

This product looks just like a normal Bluetooth receiver, however, when I tried to connect my Bluetooth headphones to my PC they would not connect. I tried many things online regarding this receiver and nothing worked from drivers to PC restarts. I went and purchased another 4.0 Bluetooth receiver from Best Buy this time and voila! It connected my headphones to my PC on the first try without any problems. Keep in mind I used the same headphones and I was the same distance away from the receiver which is about 6 inches. But what can I say...you get what you pay for in the end right.Read full review...

Good Bluetooth quality, one small issue

The Bluetooth adapter worked perfectly, only AFTER troubleshooting a few problems. Plugging this into my computer while it was shut down resulted in my computer refusing to start up fully, and getting stuck on a black screen. I tried all USB ports and the problem replicates itself.

It works well if I plug it in after already starting my computer up. A bit inconvenient, but it works.

Great when it worked...

Product arrived as described. Luckily I ordered 2 at the time, because the first one died after 45 days, outside of the free return window. Oh well...

Haven't found good drivers for this. It didn't seem to connect as easily/quickly/reliably as my older 2.0 bluetooth adapter anyway and seemed to prevent my wi-fi from connecting. Weird.

Anyway, it's sitting in the drawer now and I"m using my 8 year old ASUS dongle... bummer... maybe some day...

Small, Cheap, and Works GREAT!

It works great for transmitting FLAC quality audio to my Bluetooth Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones. The sound is great and it has pretty good range, even in my crowded apartment complex. I recommend this for anyone needing a Bluetooth dongle for headphones or any other use. The included software is easy to install and use as well. A great buy!Read full review...

Hassle free functionality with Ubuntu and Windows 10. Excellent range.

They seem to be close in performance to a Class 1 (50 meter) device. They were instantly recognized by Windows 10 and also by Ubuntu.

I still have to do some distance tests, but so far they seem to discover and pair to various devices correctly even though a couple of intervening walls.

They may get specified as a suitable replacement for a Bluetooth dongle that was discontinued, which goes in an industrial oil field instrumentation application once some additional tests are done to find the performance limits.
