A masterpiece of American Cinema

A great period piece from the tumultuous 60's. This legendary Arthur Penn film, starring such household names as Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Micheal J. Pollard, Gene Hackman and Estelle Parsons(who won the 1967 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress) was often criticized for it's extreme use of violence and bloodshed but, by today's standard, is fairly tame. Extras are pretty much non existent, consisting of primarily the production notes and the trailer. But it is the gangster film which paved the way for all other that followed.Read full review...

Re: Oldies but goodies.

You have to have grown up with these movies to appreciate them. Since film technology wasn't like it is today the acting had to be the most important part. It's nice that we can get DVD's, plug it into our DVD players and go back some 35 years and reminisce when we had hair on our head, hearing, site, etc......

VERY HARD TO FIND DVD

I received the DVD both movie and package in outstanding condition. My wife and myself enjoyed watching it, it had outstanding picture quality, the sound was also excellent. The color was as good as we had expected. I purchased the DVD because my wife had never seem Bonnie and Clyde and it was offered at an outstanding price. Accurate to what happened.

From the stories my Grandparent told, from living in the area where Bonnie grew up, this is what happened. I am glad someone followed the true storyline as it was simple abd grew to violence due to ignorance of others mostly. No idea why B&C wanted so much so soon but like a few others of that same era, they were impatient, but mostly just talk, from what my grandparents said. They also said they wouldn't hurt a fly ... but back them in a corner and they would come out fighting. This story was right on it. "I am just sorry a neighbor spealed for the money but times were rough and he wanted to save his rotten kid." was what grandpa said was their downfall. Without that squeeler, they would be living quietly around here still.Read full review...
