Another good chick lit read by Green

"Bookends" is pretty typical Jane Green. Cath is our 31-year-old single, neurotic narrator who takes us through her fledging business enterprise and ensuing romance. At times though, you want to take Cath and shake her.

Cath had formed a close-knit group of friends at university: Josh, Eddie, Si, and the elusive, magical Portia.

In the present, Eddie has slipped out of the group, but Cath is still close with Josh, his wife Lucy, and Si. Portia did a bad, bad thing in university and she grew apart, yet comes back into their lives--sort of. I never knew what to think of her.

One thing in this book: everyone is "gorgeous." Josh, Si, Si's boyfriends, Portia, Ingrid the Swedish nanny, James the love interest, Elizabeth the almost-girlfriend of Josh who was the cause of the fallout with Portia. Cath is portrayed as chubby with bushy hair and Lucy relies on her personality to get by. However, everybody else is gorgeous.

At times "Bookends" is a page turner. At times it is frustrating. But all in all, it's a good read.

Another great book by Jane Green!

I loved this book! It's about a girl who is in her thirties and still not seemingly doing anything with her life. She has a good job, stays home, and has had the same circle of friends since college. She contemplates following her dreams and finding what she wants in life. Her close circle of friends are disrupted by an old friend from college. See how everything unravels and finds its way back to normalcy. Its another great book with a happy ending from Jane Green!Read full review...

Easy to relate

This book had characters that you could easily be you or people you know. You felt like one of the gang. It has times where it keeps you guessing. You get very tempted to skip to the end and read it, but don't it is worth it to read it honestly.Read full review...
