Halo + Diablo + EVEN MORE GUNS = Borderlands 2

I am a fan of Borderlands 1. I beat that game countless times with different characters. How does Borderlands 2 fair against its predecessor?

The good:
+The game has more enemy types than Borderlands 1. New enemies include the Bullymon (four armed brutes that throw cars), etc.
+Borderlands 2 has more guns than the first Borderlands, considering the first game had over 1 million guns... that IS saying a lot. Borderlands 2 also has more different shield and grenade types.
+The game is HUGE it is larger than the Game Of the Year edition of Borderlands 1 which came with all the expansions bundled in....

The BAD:
-Many of the enemy types are recycled from the first game (the midgets, axe maniacs, bruisers, spider ants, etc.)
-The game's story is WEAK (Borderland 1 story was weak too btw.)
-The game's pace is off. Enemies respawn too quickly not letting the player explore or loot the area effectively. Borderland 1 played like this: fight, explore,loot, repeat. Borderland 2 is played like this: fight, fight, fight, explore/loot, fight, repeat. Action at all times isn't always a good thing.
-The game contains TOO MANY illuminati references, the pyramids, the eye, devil horn symbol... these shed a negative light on the whole experience.

BOTTOM LINE: Game has worse pace than the first one, but has more of everything else. BUY IT if you liked the first one :)Read full review...

Great game, excellent characters and balance and much replay value A+

I have this game for 3 systems now...I bought this originally for xbox 360 and I loved it, I have ALL legit level OP8 (80) characters and all have been legit leveled up, to give you an idea of how much I have played this game. I bought it for vita but I wanted to move my characters over, so through this and that way I had to buy the ps3 version to upload my characters to the vita. Overall Borderlands is awesome, buy this game now, even without all the DLC you will enjoy this game for its story, graphics and engine which are all so so well done. Controls and replay value are excellent. I spent so much time playing that it was worth every penny for the fun and I have played and made many friends too who went on raids and missions. You will also find a community of people who will help you if you are having problems with whatever. Now with all that being said I tried this PS3 version and its load times are worse, the graphics look the same but it's just laggy compared to 360 version. So I took a star off. The Vita version doesn't compare at all with the ps3 version btw, but I just wanted to play on the go, but anyways buy this game if you have a ps3 I promise you won't regret a second. MUCH better than the first, and the first was good. The GOTY version dropped not too long ago and is around $30 and that might be worth a go if you really get into this game because buying the DLC separately will cost so much (I got the season pass.)Read full review...

One of my top games of the year and its almost 2015.

I love this game. Lot's of powerful weapons and each weapon has lots of variations a gun might seem at a glance to be on the week side and with little monetary value but then you notice it has a special ability like for example the round may explode on impact doing serious damage or it may burst into a fireball setting them on fire. The weapons alone really keep you entertained for hours. The game play itself is great. It lets you roam all over the world questing for this and that taking jobs as you like and you will like trust me. If you like games like Halo you will like this game. I especially like the cars you get to drive, they blow Halo cars away I think. IN Halo you either drove or you manned the gun but here you can fire two different guns from the driver seat and then if you want to really unleash hell on them stop and hit triangle and you quickly jump to the big gun. Also if you can't seem to find your way into a city with high walls, just look around for something that might look like a huge ramp and go for it, hitting rocket boosters as you approach the top. LOL Should you buy this game? Everyone should have this game in their collection. I wish I had of invested in it sooner but at least I got it for a good price. Oh, I am 45 years old so I may see things a bit different than some one half my age. My grandson didn't care for the black outline look of everything but it didn't bother me at all. Not every game has to look like Call of Duty but if that's what you have to have to make your tiddly wink you may be a little turned off by the look but if your looking for a really good game that gives you plenty to do and room to do it in and the firepower to make them pay, step right up.Read full review...

I never though I would ever like this game franchise. I always was like, "don't care, looks stupid", but when I got another PS3 so I could play GTAV with my brother, Borderlands 2 came with the bundle. So I was testing the other games that came with the bundle to re-sell after and then I tried BL2. We are both hooked now, very fun, lots to do!
