Lawrence Tierney Is One Bad Dude

"Born to Kill" is a real, crime psycho-drama. Lawrence Tierney plays a mentally disturbed man who gets the urge to kill every time someone crosses him. He marries a rich girl for her money but really loves Claire Trevor because she is just like him. There's a detective on his trail and the chase to the conclusion is on. This is classic, film noir melodrama. One of the standouts in the genre. The actors are great, the direction is tight, and the story is intriguing. Audio and video quality are very good on this WB copy. I recommend it.Read full review...

Lawrence Tierney at his terrifying best.

Lawrence Tierney was probably the most terrifying man to ever appear on film. (A Hollywood director once described Tierney as having no light in his eyes.) Without special effects, little gore, little on screen violence, he scares the H out of you. And Claire Trevor (the queen of noir) and Elisha Cook Jr. are also perfectly cast. One of the Greatest Villains of San Francisco noir film

Lawrence Tierney has to be one of the greatest villains of San Francisco noir films. He is so evil you want see him “get it.” Elisha Cook jr. has another strong performance as a character actor, he was the “gunsel” in Maltese Falcon. Having played in Sunset and Ocean Beach sand dunes as a child I could feel sand in my shoes in the final dune scenes.Read full review...

I love all the film noir movies of the '40's and early '50's so I naturally wanted this movie.
