Good tool for your pedalboard
I learned about how useful this pedal can be from "That Pedal Show" - episode titled "Yes You Do Need A Graphic EQ Pedal!" I'm currently using it at the end of my pedal chain to dial out a bit of high-end noise, but watch that episode to learn other ways of using this pedal - e.g. as a volume boost - and where it can be placed in the chain.
I took one star away because the pedal has a bit of hiss - but I solved that using a Monte Allums GE-7 plus mod. Pedal is quiet as a mouse now.Read full review...

Great pedal for the money.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Boss GE-7. I use it with a Vox AC30C2 and an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. The GE-7 allows for wonderful control of your guitar's tone and with the addition of the "level" control gives you the ability to use the pedal as a clean boost. This little stomp box can make my "classic rock" AC30 drive right into the more metal-ish zone with scooped mids and boosted highs and lows.
On the negative side, the pedal does color your tone a bit. With all of the sliders centered the natural tone of your guitar will be muddied a little. This isn't really a deal breaker to me as the whole idea behind an EQ is to change/enhance the tone by moving the sliders all around. Also, when the highs are boosted the pedal introdices a bit of noise to the signal chain. I understand that there are a few mods out there that will all but eliminate noise from the pedal.
Overall, I am very pleased with the pedal. I use it sparingly and it works beautifully to "dial" in the exact tone I am looking for. It plays nice with all of my other pedals and makes a great amp (AC30) sound that much better.Read full review...
If I only had ONE pedal…. This is the one
Boss pedals are great all by themselves and need no real introduction ever!! But this pedal was sent to XTS for immediate modification to an all midrange frequency sweep that Tom Buckovac uses and the pedal is now quiet and makes any guitar louder and better as it accentuates frequency the guitar like to sit in the mix. So when I solo… it gets used, but also, if you had one guitar to use , you can make any guitar sound like a Tele, Les Paul, Strat or even a filtertron pickup by shaving or adding just the midrange. This pedal even makes dull old speakers sound crisp and bold and bright again…. It is really hard to turn this pedal OFF… makes all your note clarity bloom and just so much better. A must-have pedal after some modifications
Great pedal, but it was really noisy. I replaced the op amps with low-noise versions, replaced several capacitors and the power LED. Now it performs very well. This is a must-have pedal. It gave my 1968 Fender Bronco amp some of the midrange it has been missing.Read full review...

A fine sounding EQ pedal that quickly solved my sound reinforcement need!
I bought this particular EQ on the advice of a sound man that I work with regularly. I do a lot of gigs as a multi-instrumentalist, and was having issues with feedback and low output coming from my resonator guitar. Per his suggestion, I bought the GE-7 here on eBay and literally used it on a gig the day it arrived - it worked great and resolved both issues with zero "side effects". In addition, the pedal is not expensive or difficult to use - solid build, small footprint and sounds great, what more could you ask for!Read full review...
I bought a used unit from Japan. It looks and plays well, but the output plug does not secure...bad plug...not good

Great pedal in spite of issues with Godlyke power daisy chain...
Great for a needed solo boost or for sculpting your sound after OD/dist... Having issues with power adapter not liking Godlyke pedal power daisy chain though. I have 5 Boss pedals, 3 work great with it AC-3,CH-1, and MIJ CS-3. Unfortunately my MIJ GE-7 and PH-2 do not for some reason. Issue is not low power either...BBE Sonic Stomp adapter works great with them...strange. Regardless, Boss makes great pedals for the money, if you are interested in this pedal it is because you know what it is for...and it is really good at it!Read full review...
An incredibly powerful tool
It's amazing just how much this pedal can change and improve tone, especially when placed *before* overdrive pedals, or just pushing the front end of an amp. As a matter of fact, it has enabled me to ditch the overdrive pedals and just use the natural gain on my Fender Blues Jr, which I was never that crazy about. It's not a sexy purchase, but it's definitely been an incredibly powerful addition to my board.Read full review...

Nice EQ
Nice EQ, seems to work better on my tube amp. Pretty noisy on the solid state amp though. I Plan to modify mine, seems to be a popular fix. Works great as a boost. Fun to play with for different sounds.Read full review...
