The first reason i thought about buying this, is to to able to put a mp3 input to my amp. i was very surprised when i found out about this pedal, as what i needed was only a small tip on a giant iceberg. this pedal is great, really, my top pedal. it has up to 30 minutes of recording time availble on it, 10 basic drum sets that you can set their beat through the keys, and other couple more built in backing track loops for you to practice to. i use it to "write down" riffs as i jam, i use it to practice jamming and writing, and the experience is great! you can do so much with this that i dont think my review is even covering enough of it, but if you want to go for a loop station, this is the one!Read full review...

Pretty much the standard for these pedal loopers

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He plays guitar 2-3 hours per day, and he loves it. It can record 3 hours total time of tracks, and it has "jam tracks" from 90-99, including some very cool jazz and blues backing tracks. I may have to buy one of these for myself.

The sound quality of the recordings is very good also. The sound is just like what you fed into it. Plus, it has a USB port so you can save your loops/tracks to a computer.

Great practice and writing tool

This is a great pedal for working out song ideas without the hassle of getting out the multi-track. I wish I had one years ago. The long loop time and rhythm selection are major bonuses and are well worth the extra selling price (vs. the cheaper boss loop pedals). I don't know how I ever got along without this!!!

I've had this for 2-3 months now and I LOVE IT!!! It's great for jotting down quick ideas or, for writing complete songs. There's 3 hours of recording space so it's not likely that you'd fill it up, at least not any time soon. Even if you did manage to fill up the memory, you can always dump files onto your PC via a USB cable, or put them back on to it when you want.

There's a slight learning curve to operating it but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy, and fun. I bought this to get back into playing and recording again, and it's been a HUGE help!!

You can plug just about ANY instrument or audio output device into it, including an mp3 player if you want to play along with some of your favorite songs.

The only thing I don't like about it is the weak, trashy sounding drum loops it comes with. I NEVER use them. My guitar effects pedal has a much better sounding drum machine built in to it, so I use that instead.Read full review...

Absolutely the best pedal I have ever owned. That's a long time invested in playing. This pedal has all you need to improving your playing abilities. Built in rhythm and a layered channel to play along with. Easy to use operation!
Personally I feel you can't go wrong purchasing this pedal. Alto Music on Ebay offers a great deal on the Boss RC3.

This is the latest model Boss RC-3 Loop and beats all the previous ones, of course.
My son's just try it for the first time, found it really fun, easy to use, and even without reading the catalog.<br>You can play drums, adjust your rhythm you want, plus memorize your first back up guitar rhythm and go one with your solo over all.
It's a great piece of equipment to have if you are an electric guitar player, actually " You Must Have ".

Great scratch pad and practice tool

If you write your own music the Boss Loop Station is a must. Easy to use so you'll never lose those licks or chord progressions you want to keep for future songs. It's great to practice with too. You can easily layer all sorts of music on one channel. With 99 channels you won't run out of space. One drawback is the drum volume is too loud so you have to be vary careful playing it through an amp as you could blow the speaker. I have a DRRI and I plug my rig into the second input on the vibrato channel as it has a lower db setting and even then the drum kit at it's lowest volume is fairly loud. I have read complaints on line about this. The drum kits aren't the most intricate but again for practice it has helped me with timing. I'm just a hobbyist so this pedal works great. The PSU is a must as this thing would gobble up 9 volt batteries like it's Thanksgiving dinner. All in all a worthwhile investment.Read full review...

Very useful tool to expand skills. Kinda tricky to use but I’m 71 and I figured it out after messing with it for an afternoon. The rhythm function is a great feature.
