This is a wonderful and complete reproduction of the famous Bradshaw railroad, ferry and steamship timetables and travel guides for Continental Europe. The amount of railroad and ship services provided in 1913 is astounding when viewed from a century later. Information on currency exchanges, passport and customs protocols, expected behavior and destination lodging facilities are covered in detail. The advertisements for transportation and hotel / dining venues are by themselves worth the price of the book. Sadly, all of this wonderful way of life and travel opportunity would come to an end forever just one year later in 1914, with the outbreak of World War I in Europe. Read full review...
