Believe it or not,this is actually a solid dancing game
Britney's Dance Beat is a licensed rhythm game featuring Britney Spears and an assortment of her songs. It is created by Metro, the same developers who brought Bust-a-Groove and Sky Diving Extreme, but this game is a bit different.
In this game you press certain buttons to go along with the beat of her music, and your goal is to audition for a role as a dancing partner for Britney. You must outdance your opponent. The simple music engine for this game works well, though you only follow the beat, and there is not an element of planning an attack on the opponent like in other Metro dancing games. The game music is 5 of Britney's most popular songs, and the dancing in the game is well choreographed with good character animation. Some complaints of mine are that there are only 5 songs, the characters to dance with are lame, and the computer can sometimes be annoying. If you like Britney Spears or if you just enjoy simple rhythm games and can forget about Britney's recent image problems, this is a good choice.Read full review...
Hard!
With all PS2 dance game experience being with DDR, this game isn't as easy as those. Setup is different, but it's a good way to challenge yourself and get a sweat going. Good work out. Stays entertaining with music and dance steps, and before you know it you've been literally working out for an hour.

Britney can't be Beat!
My Honey-love muffin is a huge Britney fan, and being a ninth-level GameMaster, I had to give it a try. I found it quite challenging, pressing the correct buttons to the beat of Britney's top hits, even though I am an accomplished drummer. The video segments and digital Britney are first-rate, as well as the animated dancers who represent the players auditioning for a spot on Britney's next tour. The 3-D pannable camera view in the unlockable tour videos are well done, and motivate the player to do their best. Gets old fast...
This game is alright. It calls to mind the days when Britney actually had a little bit of taste and produced good songs. I like the style of the game, but with only five songs it gets old REALLY fast.
1.) "...Baby One More Time"
2.) "Oops! I Did It Again"
3.) "Stronger"
4.) "I'm A Slave 4 U"
5.) "Overprotected"
If they combined the interface of this game with the ability to input your own cd's (like in Dance Factory) then this would be an awesome game. All in all, good for Spears fans but I wouldn't really recommend it for the average dance-game player.Read full review...
ADEQUATE FUN!!....NOT FOR THE DANCE MAT!!!
This game was okay!! I bought it thinking my son could use it with a dance mat...thus the name..."Britney's Dance Beat". But it turns out you have to use a handheld controller to play it. So I am only giving it a "C" for average. If you are looking for a dance game that doesn't require a dance mat..then this game is for you!! Otherwise...you might want to think about your dance revolution games!! Great and awesome game.
Like the DDR game, my original disc was scratched from my countless relocating. Though it wasn't brand new, it works fine and it was nice playing the game again.
