Great birthday present for my 5 year old

My dad got an NES classic while we were out visiting so the girls would have something to do while it was raining. My daughter was a big fan of this game, so we gave it to her for her birthday. It's nice because it's a fairly quick game, so she can sit down without a lot of time needing to be dedicated, and it's one of the few NES games she's able to play decently.Read full review...

Apparently tested doesn't mean it works

Game is not clean tested. I've only gotten it to work once, when I first received it, and that took me about 20 minutes of trying. I use a Retron, not an original Nintendo because the games typically work much better on that. I had been looking for this game for quite a while, searching only locally before remembering Ebay was even a thing anymore. Shame I feel like I wasted my money, and my time.Read full review...

Bubble Bobble (NES) Review 8/10

I used to play Bubble Bobble for hours on end and I don't to this day think I've ever beaten the final boss. You play as a tiny dinosaur who's method of attack is to encase the enemy in a bubble and then pop them before they get mad and bust loose. In my own opinion this game sucks unless played on multiplayer, you can't hurt each other and having a friend playing beside you makes it that much more fun, it also makes it easier in some of the later stages when you need to reach enemies on a platform at the top but with no way up other then jumping on your bubbles and hoping they don't pop and drop you back down...it's much easier when one stands at the bottom shooting bubbles and the other jumps their way to the top on the other one's bubbles. It wouldn't be so bad on one player except for the timer...if you don't kill all the enemies in a certain amount of time this whale skeleton comes out and homes in on you and there's no way to kill it YOU WILL DIE unless you're lucky enough to dodge him long enough to kill the rest of the enemies. All in all it's a fun game but a lot with a friend. I give it an 8 out of 10Read full review...

They Don't Call It A "Classic" For Nothing!!

I was one of the lucky kids (along with my brother and sister) who got the brand new, cutting edge Nintendo Entertainment System when it first came out, and Bubble Bobble soon followed! Typical of most Nintendo games, it was alluringly simple, yet tantalizingly difficult: capture the enemy creatures in bubbles, and pop them to advance through the game - all 200+ levels of it!! It quickly became a family favorite. To this day, nearly 20 years later, I still remember many of the quirky pronunciations my siblings and I gave to the passwords for key levels, and the tricks for getting through the really tough parts.

The only downfall to this game is that you absolutely positively NEED two players to truly beat the game: otherwise, you face the dreaded "false ending" and have to start all over (or use a password and start from the appropriate point). The way around this problem if you're playing alone? When you get to the end, do your best to ensure that you have at least one life left over, and "gift" it to the second player (push "start" then "select" to sacrifice your spare life so the second player can join in)! That said, I find no other fault with this game!

Bubble Bobble has simple controls and a simple concept, but don't expect to truly "beat" it so simply. I could go on and on about how challenging this game is, in classic "Nintendo-hard" fashion, but really, you should play it and find out for yourself! Don't forget to invite a friend!

Oh, and if you want a tip or two, find me on eBay and ask away: I don't know everything, but I'll do my best to help you out!

One of The Best Game of NES

In short, Bubble Bobble was simple, multi-player fun. Whereas Rampage got mind-numbingly boring after three levels, every level of Bubble Bobble was different from the last, and there were lots of different enemies to fight. The game starred two cute, little dinosaur creatures who trapped their enemies in bubbles and then popped said bubbles, turning the baddies into food. There were 100 levels to fight through, with a giant boss named Super Drunk at the end. There were a few frustrating points where you would have to use your bubbles to climb up to get to an enemy, but they weren’t overly damaging to the games fun factor. The graphics and play control are both solid, making for a great two-player co-op.Read full review...

The arcade classic returns!

Bubble Bobble for the Nintendo NES may not have all of the quirks of the original arcade game, but it sure does play and look good for the NES. It does feature all 100 levels plus the bonus 100 SUPER levels. The only down side to this title is that it does not feature a battery save option. Otherwise, it is a fun game, and you can use codes to pick up where you left off. If you like this game, we recommend you look for the rental only game "Bubble Bobble: Part 2" for Nintendo NES, the Game Boy game "Bubble Bobble: Part 2", "Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2" for Nintendo NES, or the countless other ports of "Bubble Bobble" for Game Boy -- but NOT the one for currently for DS due to its glitch. Highly recommended. A must have if you can only have 10 or fewer games in your NES game collection and want all of them to be winners.Read full review...

Love this game!

I loved this game when I was a child and still do. The best thing is that this game was well preserved and hardly has any glitches or delays. It's in great condition as if new.
