Amazing concept that kind of let's you down...

Buddha boards are an absolutely amazing concept. The Creator was conceptually onto something really grand in creativity and a very simple, easy design that would allow for the free flow of energy from human to paintbrush in a low-tech, non-electrical environment. High applause for that!
HOWEVER...Can This product do what it claims to do? In my opinion, no. There simply is not enough time to complete any creative endeavor on the board which you would or could possibly hold dear or that you could form any kind of credible affection towards. There is just not enough time before the brush strokes evaporate. Thats the whole point of the board right? To build a kind of affection for something - your creation - something you've just pulled out of yourself and poured out onto this stone ... onto this new age "canvas."

If only the amount of liquid varied by the size of brush or was responsive to pressure in order to achieve highlights and lowlights while creating your masterpiece or, at the very least while you create any kind of artwork worthy of keeping. After all, if you don't care at all about your art or you can't create anything that evokes an emotional response in yourself, then you are NOT going to reap the intended purpose of the Buddha Board. If the squiggly lines and hearts you drew aren't deserving of a response other than RELIEF, then yuh oure missing the point. If the point is to feel a sense of letting go or experiencing a loss when it's gone, then I'm going to need more than 25 seconds to build anything worth generating a desire to hold onto it. It just can't deliver that.

WATER ON A DRY ROCK EVAPORATES REALLY FAST!!

Although the board truly delivers what it says it's going to deliver in theory, I think it just needs work. There has to be something they can do. For staying power of the moisture on the stone because it just doesn't last long enough to create anything worth keeping. Simply put, you can not develop a relationship with what you've created long enough to even remotely care about it drying up. Thus, you really can't practice a sense of letting go at all because really you're happy that mess is drying up and going away. So, it's pretty disappointing in that regard. Okay a LOT disappointed.

So, if you want to practice your artistic skills like a toddler and make large brush Strokes with a wet brush on a dry stone, then this is for you! Enjoy!
