I had a reliable and long lasting Braun coffeemaker that I finally had to part with. I wanted a brewer that just made coffee, no clock or timer or burner, just a simple coffeemaker that utilized an insulated carafe. The Bunn BTX-B has reservoir with two carafe's of hot water, which greatly cuts down on brewing time. In about 3 minutes I have hot coffee and it makes great coffee. What's that smell?

I have used Bunn coffee makers for two decades without problems, but lately I have to ask, "what happened?" Bunn coffee makers are fast and easy to use, the concept is great, but the ones I have bought lately have an electrical, burning rubber-like smell that is unacceptable. The water stays hot in these units all the time, sort of like mini water heaters, but after mine heated up to operating temperature, it started to emit a nauseating smell that wafted throughout the whole house. i don't know if it is the plastic on the top of the unit or something internal, but I had to send it back. Perfect

We always loved our Bunn and now the one with the carafe certainly adds a sense of security to our household. Out house has both day shift and night shift workers so the coffee is always ready and no worry about warmer on and a fire.
Hint to make sure you temper the carafe with hot water before you start the brew cycle to keep coffee hot longer.

Newer style pot is great

This is my 2nd BTX-10 thermal coffee maker. This edition of the BTX-10 has a new style coffee pot, which pours better and keeps the coffee hot for a longer period of time.
I roast and grind my own coffee. I had to learn how to use the Bunn coffee maker when brewing home roasted coffee because the water doesn't flow through the grounds as quickly (can be messy) as the packaged ground coffee, which allows the water to flow more freely. I had to experiment with lifting the lid to stop the water flow and then putting the lid back down to get the water flowing again. It may sound complicated but it's not and the quality of the coffee is extraodinary.
My first BTX-10 lasted about 6 years, so I expect this unit to be, at least, as dependable as the previous unit.Read full review...

Awesome Quality!

We are very pleased with this coffee maker and craft it makes an awesome cup of coffee in 3 minutes or less and the craft keeps it piping hot for a good 3-5 hrs. The craft quality is very good, easy instructions, easy to use and clean... only con I can find is that its a little hard to pour water in the top of the machine and to pour it all out of the craft because of the way its made but not a reason not to buy it.....this is our 3rd Bunn but first with the stainless steel craft....Bunn, please keep the quality up on your coffee makers.Read full review...

Best and fastest.

I owned the previous generation of this and the machine was great then,, producing really great filter coffee in record time. If you paid attention to roast date and grind you could get nearly pour over quality. I owned it for years and the only issue I ever had was a minor internal gasket, easily repaired. The new models thermal carafe, provided you prewarm it, keeps the coffee really hot for hours without cooking it over a burner. I was surprised to how hot it stayed and was still good coffee. Operation is easy enough to do in your sleep. Cleaning is emptying the filter basket and putting it and the carafe in the dishwasher. My brother in law got one for Christmas 2019. Best coffee pot I've owned . Number one for me

Had a little trouble understanding the directions as to how to get started , Once that was behind me I was making coffee in less than three minutes. The coffee is very good. You must keep the coffee pot plugged in all the time to keep the water in the hoding tank hot and ready to go whenever you want to make another pot of coffee. The best method for home brewing American coffee.

This is the best home pourover coffee maker I've used. The brand name tells you almost everything you need to know. Bunn is the premiere commercial coffee brewer brand for restaurants. This is NOT a drip coffee maker. Tips: fill the carafe with boiling water and let it sit for a little while then empty it so the heat of the brewed coffee is not "leeched" into the carafe. If you do not use Bunn filters, be sure your filters are 2.5 inches tall. I prefer the gold tone metal filter. Some people say the brown paper filters add an odd taste. For the best iced coffee, use the Japanese method: Put filtered-water ice to match half the water required for your coffee into the carafe. Put the equivalent amount of water in the machine. You will brew double-strength coffee directly onto the ice in the carafe. The 200-degree water of the Bunn is critical to extract the flavors from the coffee. The ice is just as critical. It will cool the brewed coffee very quickly so the aromatics stay in the liquid. Have you ever had coffee which smelled better than it tasted? The flavor went into the air. Japanese ice brewing minimizes this. Use a kettle to heat the water you pour into the machine. This minimizes delay between brews. This machine heats the "new" water before adding it to the reserved water. Be sure to remove the coffee grounds before they have dripped dry. Great coffee pot.
