Canon EF-28-80 f/3.5-5.6 Autofocus Lens

This is a good intermediate autofocus zoom lens. As it is not image-stabilized, it requires tripod support for high-magnification shots, especially for moderate or lower light conditions, using automatic settings. I purchased it to bridge the gap between the 18-55 mm and 70-200 mm lenses, which it does well.Read full review...

Very good lens

I found this lens to be very good opticaly especially so considering it's price. The light weight proved to make this lens a very versital in the bag and on the camera. I recomend this lens to anyone who wants a good medium to telephoto zoom, that is very easy to use and take care of.Read full review...

I love this lens!

This lens is great so far! I did my homework and this older lens is fitting my intended purpose. I'm sure that one day soon down the road, I was purchase some newer thousand dollar "L" glass equivalent, but with my current budget and cast of lens, this falls directly into my desired place!Read full review...

Wonderful lens, quiet and fast focusing.

Best auto focus lens I've ever used. I can only compare it to Minolta A.F. lens but the Canon is lighter , faster, and quieter.

This is important to me because I hike a lot and need something light and quiet. I also have another Canon body for back-up. I have two Minolta 450 si's but I find them a little old fashioned compared to the Canon. However, the Minolta's have served me quite well and I do feel that they might hold up under rougher conditions such as falls and moisture. This remains to be seen.Read full review...

A very nice lens.

I needed a lens to fit in between my kit lens and a telephoto. This one fit the bill and I am very happy with the results. I also needed a lens that I could handle fairly well with my one good hand. It works great for me and the image quality is very satisfactory. If you are looking for a decent lens without it costing an arm and a leg, it is a good choice.Read full review...

Exceeded my expectations!! What a buy!

Awesome value! I bought this lens to replace the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my Rebel XTi.
The 28-80mm USM has a great focal range and takes high quality photos. There are higher quality lenses available, but not at this price range. I'm very happy with this purchase.Read full review...

you get what you pay for

low quality with plastic lenses, for a lower mega pixel camera may be OK, for any of the higher end ones, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. spend a little more on a 50mm 1.8 or even a 100mm 2,8 macro and enjoy yourself and your pictures a whole lot moreRead full review...
