Dream Come True

I am VERY happy with my Canon 5D Mark IV. It raises my photo taking to a whole new level. It is amazing how much flexibility I have now. I am amazed by its low light capability, I enjoy the heft of the body, it doesn't feel cheap and flimsy and it isn't too heavy. A few drawbacks: the Canon RAW Reader is mediocre. I had to subscribe to Adobe Photoshop CC to be able to finesse color and white balance. While the autofocus is great for taking sharp pictures, it sucks BIG for video bcuz anything in the foreground will pull focus. Too many focus points for me. I like having a 1 focal point option to better control focus w/o having to go full manual. But overall, I love it! Controls are intuitive. Since I am shooting professionally, I need a camera that can really deliver sharp images. The camera will pay for itself many times over.Read full review...

I got another bad body

I just got the Mark4 and was dissatisfied. My review screen has a green tint to it and it is under and over exposing. I tried taking a pic of a waterfall in slow exposure and it won't go past a half second or it will over expose. I have had many Marklll's and they never lasted more than 18 months. Do I just keep getting bad bodies? I'm sending this back for a new oneRead full review...

Medium Format in a DSLR

Was looking at a digital back for my Hasselblad H2. Review not very good for an expensive back. Phase One also out of range. Found reviews on the Canon EOS 5Ds 50.6mp. This camera bridged the gap from medium format, and in addition, I already have several lenses that work perfectly. This camera is Not for Video, It is an extremely wonderful camera for landscape & still photography. It is easy to use and comfortable to hold and carry. This is a camera to keep.Read full review...

Next level photography

I have been shooting with Canon cropped sensor cameras (18mp) and iPhones (8-12mp) since 2006. I was debating between upgrading to this 5D or a mirrorless. The 5D (obviously) won because the "affordable" mirrorless cameras were the early models with picture quality, lense availability, and battery issues.
The image quality and features of this 5D Mark IV are superb. However, it does take some getting used to, as there are many new functions and the layout is different. The weight is not much more than my other Canons. Definitely takes good quality low-light photos.

So many features!

I've been shooting with canon for 10+ years. I love the 5D, but this mark iv has just surpassed my expectations. The WiFi, the 4K video, the touch screen, the ISO!!, video editing, and photo rating right there on the camera. Love it! Worth the upgrade.

Cons: It's still a heavy and complicated camera. There are many small easy cameras on the market that are doing a great job delivering photo quality. My husband and I compete between his Pixel 3 and my 5D Mark IV...generally speaking the Pixel does the job, but there are sometimes when the pixel doesn't cut it. The manual options on the Mark IV are tough to beat.

Great Camera Body

I bought this body to replace my Canon 5D MK III body. I was debating between Canon 5D MK IV and Sony a7 R III. After much thinking, I decided to go with Canon because I didn’t want to learn a new system and buy new lenses. I know you could use Canon lens on Sony with an adapter but I can use a Canon body with my eyes closed. Also I got a great deal on eBay. All the improvements that Canon made for 5D MK IV is good enough for me until a full frame mirrorless body is released by Canon. The things I love the most about this camera:

-improved image quality
-awesome focusing
-touch screen and touch screen focus
-AF in video mode
-WiFi and GPS
-Intervalometer
-custom quick menu
-everything else is as good or better than MK III

Great camera for low light.

This is an amazing camera. Not leaps and bounds beyond my iii though. The duel pixel raw feature wasn’t as exciting as I had hoped. The best feature of this over the three are the low light capabilities and the touch screen. The larger file size is actually kind of a pain because I’m burning through more space on my hard drive. Unless your doing births or weddings I would go for the iii. It is a super solid camera and a bargain.Read full review...

5D Mark IV is the best Canon body I've ever used

I moved up to the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV from Canon EOS 40D and the difference is night and day. I expected a big improvement over that good but somewhat dated body and this one exceeded my expectations.

Image quality from the 5D Mark IV is so good it is the first camera I've seen that regularly delivers images that visibly and obviously benefit both from the sophisticated detail enhancing raw conversion mode in Adobe Camera Raw, as well as being able to be processed and sharpened as much as you care to without bringing up distracting noise or artifacts. The amount of recovery you can do in a pinch to bring up dark shadowy areas or to rescue apparently blown highlights and have them look natural is great. And if you need a fast shutter in available darkness, just dial in ISO 6400 or higher and the full-frame imager delivers - you get creamy smooth results.

I was concerned that an older "keep on the camera at all times, it's that useful" 28-135 Canon zoom I got back in 2000, wouldn't be sharp enough for the higher photosite density in the 5D Mark IV, but I guess the dual sensor photosites are doing their jobs as I am surprised at the great level of detail even in the full frame 30.3 megapixel captures.

And the body is clearly built to last.

Prices have dropped in 2020 - don't stunt your photography by missing out on one of these awesome cameras.

Great Camera

I am hobbyist, what I really like;
1) Price: I trust the product and got one imported model. I am glad I did that. There is no difference, I don't care the warranty part. Now, I have both USA and Imported Model, no difference at all except some paper work.
2) Picture Quality is amazing
3) Easy and Quick Setup
4) Speedy, Low light, ISO, all amazing
5) More options, buttons, multi touch
6) Wirelessly Pictures transfer
7) Wirelessly Wifi Printing
8) GPS

What is missing:
1) 100 years old fixed screen, no tilt (Vari-angle LCD) screen option
2) Still heavy: after 5 years production, came out again such heavy camera
3) C-Log is not Free.

Great camera, good in low light and spot on focus.

I just returned from an Alaska trip. The D5 Mark IV is a fantastic camera for both stills and 1080p video (did not try 4K video). I used ffmpeg to compress the hugh video files. My only issue, is it did not come with a battery (A typical body only purchase includes a battery). This delayed my testing for a few days and incurred an additional $50 purchase. In the end, it was good to have new batteries. The picture was taken by my 16 year old son (hand held 400mm zoom). Lens was calibrated to body using the D5 Mark IV micro adjustment.Read full review...

Canon 5D IV - Great Engineering - The Best

I am not technical or Pro, all I can do share my own experience.
I moved from Canon 6D to 5D IV. And I love it.

Thanks for those who came up for imported models that save you good money. I don't care about warranty, I trust Brand New Canon 5D IV for solid Camera Quality.

Picture clarity is really good, big difference, if you compare 2 pictures taken from 6d to 5d IV.

Awesome, vibrant colors
Over all pictures looks like Pro pics without tech training.
Great camera for low lighting
I use in concert and got some really good shots in harsh stage lighting.
Overall I m extremely happy with my purchase.
