Bought to avoid red ink running out before the black

I ordered this model because it has separate red ink and black ink spools of equal size. I always have hated that most machines have much smaller red ink compared to black, with the red tending to dry out long before the black was used up. Canon Calculator

It operates fluidly. No sticking keys. Wonderful readout. Has a clock and a calendar. That is special. Canon always comes up with the best no matter what product bears their name. This is a tough machine, not like the rinky dink thing I had before with all the sticking keys and much less features and durability.I like the way the paper roll sits up high. Great little home-small business calculator

This is my second Canon calculator in 10 years. When I needed another unit, I returned to Canon! What more could I ask for -- for about $20! The spacing is perfect on the P170-DH, the feel of the keys is just right, and the bonus clock and calendar is a wonderful addition. I have to admit, I don't always use the printer, so I cannot remark how the printer holds out after 10 years of constant use, but the bright and large digits lasted more than many other brands I've used. I've had a home-based mortgage consulting company for years, the Canon units have always performed well. The reason I'm replacing my older calculator? "Missing" during a move to another city -- I guess, the movers thought it was a pretty nice device for their desk too. :)Read full review...

Canon Calculator

Canon makes a rugged dependable product that will take a beating and keep on working. The P170-DH model has a large easy-to-read display and a well layed out keyboard. The handiest feature for me is the mark-up, mark-down keys. Very easy to calculate your profit either by percentage or dollar amount.

If there is a weakness with this model, it probably is the power switch. After a lot of use, the contacts of the on-off switch seems to wear through the printed circuit foil, but only after a ton of use. Most other brands I've used never lasted long enough for that to be a problem.Read full review...

This was just what I needed! I had one just like it but it broke. Only thing was I had to get new rolls of paper as the roll that came with it was yellowed and "crisp". It did need ink as well. But both items were inexpensive. So I thought it was a good deal.Read full review...
