I've had this for about six months now, and it does what it's supposed to. Output quality is excellent, I've used it for some photographic prints with great results. I also had the older generation of this same printer, which I handed down. It's still functioning just as well. It's been very reliable. Consumables are reasonably priced. Buy Canon, just not this model.
Set up was easy because you get a disk with the printer. Pop in the disk and it does most of the set up. On the down side the LCD screen is tiny and hard to read. Plus tons of Canon printer software is dumped on your computer. Which is good if you want to be creative. Also it jams on any type of paper other than 8.5 x 11. Won't do envelopes or labels. SImple printer Dependable
This is the second Canon we've owned and it works fine . Still have the other one but is not supported by our cheap Chromebooks. Took a few tries to get the wireless to work but I think that's the Chromebooks issues. So far it prints great and copies great. I was searching for a compatible printer with minimal ink cartridges to replace . This uses only 2 as did the other one. Very satisfied with returning to a Canon. Anybody wanna buy my other one? Great deal for the money. The top part that you lift for scanning is kind of flimsy/loose. Print quality seems good. Set up was easy until I tried to set up my Iphone. Fuggetaboutit. Connectivity Issues; Printer USB Cable Not Included
I miss the days of “plug and play” printers; especially when installation / set up guides overlook small but necessary steps (like with this printer). Fortunately I’m just tech savvy enough to figure it out.... sort of.
The printer eventually synced with my phone, but never could get my pc to find / recognize it. “No worries, I’ll just connect via usb”, right? Well, not if Canon doesn’t include the specific usb printer cable.

All you have to do is pay attention to the CD instructions, follow along step-by-step, and it was up and running. First let me say, I am elderly & definitely not tech savvy. It took me a total of 3 hours to completely install. Once I had it set up, the print is clear & prints reasonably fast. Easy setup & Good Print Quality
Easy setup and print quality is good. Quieter than my last Canon Pixma MG3200. Printing starts quickly which didn't happen with my last printer. Only downside is black ink emptied quickly with the regular cartridge. I usually use the XL cartridges which last much longer.Read full review...
