Perfect camera for me.

It was a duplicate of the camera I have and used for over 12,500 pictures for Ebay. It still works but i was getting scared that it would konk out just from excessive use. I decided to find an exact duplicate of this camera and feel like the one i received worked perfectly for my needs. I already had the program installed to transfer pictures from the camera to my computer so that part was done. I set the time and date but I may have done something wrong. It changed to the next day at noon and not at midnight, and i don't know how to change it correctly, so I am making my own adjustment in judging the date of the pictures. The date is very important in Ebay to locate the photos I need for a certain day. I could use some help getting the correct setting. But the pictures are great and I think this camera will last for over 10,000 pictures. Read full review...

Takes good videos, but pictures come out a blur.

I got this camera specifically for shooting videos at home of my kids. It's good for that. Pictures come out bad, very blurred. Once in a while if the subject is sitting still and I'm holding the camera very steadily I get a ok shot. But it's very rare.Read full review...

Rugged and Solid; Take it anywhere

I bought this product to provide family members with cameras. Solid metal body with weight. Takes great pictures, but the controls on the back are not as user freindly as I would have hoped. Great battery life. Several shooting options along with the traditional point and shoot auto function that Canon is famous for. Good flash fill when needed. Even used, the Canon SD790 IS is a remarkable little camera

The SD790 is one of the best small digital cameras Canon ever produced. It has a metal, not plastic, frame and that drew me in. I wanted one right from the start for quick shots but could not afford it. So I bided my time. For a while I forgot about it and continued shooting with my full size professional Nikon, even for quick headshots. But recently I saw an Ebay promo for a used 790 and checked in on prices. Most were banged up but I found one in good operating condition with minor scuffs. I purchased it for less than $30 and added a charger and a backup battery. It's been a wonderful little camera and takes amazing photos and video. Will it outlast my big Nikon? We'll see.Read full review...

Amazing camera

If you have ever second guessed this camera for any reason...stop. I spent two weeks in research before buying this particular cam. Some cameras made by the same company that may be "Obove it" or "Below it" do not have the same reputation for reliability. The battery lasts longer than an Alaskan winter. The still pictures make you think you are a proffesional. The color-swap is interesting, and will blow your mind. The video is crisp, and clear. The audio is outstanding. I think some person accidently TRIED this camera before it went into production! I mean, they actually put the mic in a place to where your finger will not cover it when you hold it as any person would. The macro (SUPER close pics) will leave you in awe. It will shoot in almost NO light! The 3X zoom is the only downfall. If focused all the way out, the picture will lose resolution. Again on the upside, this thing is built like a tank! You may have seen large screens on a cam before, but somehow they figured out a way to make THIS screen visible from almost ANY angle you hold it! I have a Nikon sitting here, a Sony, and this Canon. If a thief came in right now and demanded two of my three cams, I would GIFT-WRAP the Sony and Nikon for them!! I am STILL amazed. Oh...did I mention the time-lapse feature? Ever want to see a flower bloom? See the sun...set? I could go on and on. And I have. Yet I did not even scratch the surface. Waste two weeks of your life and your memories verifying what I have said, or be smart, and buy this camera. My last word? I only wish that I had had me to tell me what I just told you. I trust me. Any Canon Digital Elph is a sure winner.

This is the fourth Canon digital elph camera I have had (upgrades) and I have loved every one of them. They are very user friendly, easy to learn how to operate. They take beautiful pictures. The camera itself feels solid and good in your hands. The size is great. I always carry my camera in my purse, it takes little room and is light. There are special effects on the camera, my favorite is "color accent". You pick out one color in your scene and mark it. When you take the picture it is all in b&w except for the color the you picked out. That color is in color. The camera is very durable. By buying them on ebay, I have gotten very good deals. Seriously, I have bought one of these for all four of my kids. I just think they're great.Read full review...

Sweet Camera

Love this little camera. It's only 3X zoom, but it's compact, easy to use, holds a charge for a good number of shots. It's great for adventures, because it fits in my pocket.

Downside: I wish sometimes I had more low light. The flash drives me crazy. Most of the time I want it off. Not a camera issue I think, just not a point and shoot feature.Read full review...
