Nice capable pocket camera.

Nice little pocket camera easy to take everywhere. It is also the smallest current camera that offers a view finder. I like view finders especially outdoors when the screen becomes hard to see like in all things digital. It has good settings and properly used will take excellent photos.I have other larger cameras with more zoom and custom settings that I use for special projects, but this camera sees lots of snapshot use due to its portability and good photos. Auto settings works fine for most things.Than you have lots of scene modes and manual setting. Recommended.Read full review...

Canon SD-900: sharp, high contrast images in a subcompact package.

I have a collection of Canon digital Elphs including the S-400, S-500, SD-800IS, SD-850IS and now the SD-900. I reviewed my excellent SD-850IS earlier, but it was stolen. I compared my used SD-800IS, which I'm very happy with, to the used SD-900. I tested with auto mode and manual mode where I turned the flash off and kicked the ISO up. In low light situations, I was a bit disappointed with the 900 compared with the 800IS, given the large 1/1.7 senor on the 900. The results with the 900 were poor at ISO 3200. Nevertheless, the resolution of the 900 was not the issue for most low light photos, it was the lack of IS. The 800IS was better. However, for daylight photography, the 900 was clearly superior. Although I'm not a fan of the megapixels race, the 10MPx in the 900 clearly showed greater resolution than the 7MPx in the 800IS. The contrast was clearly superior in daylight and normal shooting solutions. Flash photos were good with each. I compared both cameras with my 2010 vintage Lumix ZS6, and the newer camera was superior. I wish the 900 had IS. Nevertheless, the SD-900 is an excellent general purpose ultra-compact that I can carry easily on my belt or in a pocket and I'm very satisfied with the camera.Read full review...

Nice backup camera.

I purchased this as a backup for my mirrorless and DSLR cameras. It has a viewfinder, which is important. The majority of use is outdoors, hiking and biking. This particular camera is not as nice as advertised, LCD badly scratched. But the images are fine.Read full review...

Great camera to keep in the pocket

I have a large DSLR camera I take most places, but I found dropping this little guy in the pocket allows me to catch the quick little pics, I would have missed setting up the big boy. Perfect size and good quality.Read full review...

Canon PowerShot SD900-10.0 Megapixel

I like the size. It fits easily in a pocket. Takes great pics. However, the retractable lens seems to be the weak link. The lens gets locked either in the retracted or extended position. The camera displays a "lens error", and the camera is useless. I have had the camera about 1.5 years.Read full review...

Not bad.

A decent camera. I primarily use it for underwater photography. Takes good shots, and the zoom with the elph has produced good pics.... The high def video is nice as well.... Over all, I'm satisfied with it, and would recommend it to anyone who needs quality for a low price..
This is my second sd900. I would've upgraded to a newer camera with more features-filters-settings, but my underwater housing is model specific.

Great, slick camera

Pros:
Fast focus
Face detection AF/AE
Good build quality
quality movie mode

Cons:
AiAF focus not good
little manual control
ISO 800 and 1600 useless
Some purple fringing

Overall, this is a stylish, well-appointed point and shoot camera. It is easy to use and well made.

Canon Power Shot SD900

As an owner of the S110 Power Shot I was pleased to discover that operation ease had been improved. The compact size was a factor for me in the purchase along with the 10MP feature. It is less like a box and fits the hand very well. The one dislike I had was that it came with a small amount of memory only good for two or three shots. I had to get a 1GB memory card/chip to make the camera practical. But this was easily over ridden by the primary features I like, namely small size, large MP and ease of operation.Read full review...

Quality picture SD900

It is my 4th copy of this model.
Only danger is dropping it with the lense extended,
or getting water in the microphone!
Good product for me.
