Works great.

Does the job it was made for. Has many uses. Good for all ages, outside or in a shop. Power selection is a nice feature and has a "sweet spot" depending what you are looking at. The focus knob is fine enough to bring in a perfect focus and stiff enough to keep in focus without drifting. Take a some getting used to but really good to have. Remember, this is NOT a $300 unit but for the price and value it's a keeper.Read full review...

OK views and very small/portable, but better other options

I used it for looking at pond water and plankton samples. After tricky manipulations to get the microscope and specimen slide aligned, the views are adequate to identify protists, algae, rotifers and Daphnia (micro-crustaceans). But the views and especially the user friendliness of the Carson MicroBrite are both far better and that costs only about $1 more. For 99% of people I recommend the bigger MicroBrite, also by Carson.

I still occasionally use the MicroMax when I want something that doesn't take up most of my pocket. This MicroMax is about 1/3 of the size of it's bigger sibling.

Piece of junk

This is the worst handheld microscope that i have ever used. The light is insufficient for this product. Focus is very difficult to get and constantly will go out of focus even if you dont move the object or the microscope. Zoom is terrible the dials are extremely difficult to use they turn too hard causing you to move from the object.Read full review...

Image poor

Image is reasonably well focused but quite cloudy. Eye relief is nil. Controls stiff so, unless held very firmly, adjustment moves the entire unit. Barely usable for all but coarse work.

good item, low price

This pocket microscope is a good value for the money. Takes a while to get it focused but after you figure it out, works good.

Good for the price

Don’t expect this to be amazing. All the functions work well for what it is and how much it costs. You can spend twice as much on the so called named brand ones and they’re no better.
