A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DVD
This is a superbly done account of how the first Panda came to America, but it's far more as the WWF explains. I'd recommend this to kids over five; young adults, and all who still haven't made up their minds if a Panda is a bear or a raccoon. There's only one brief scene where the "lesser Panda" is seen in a tree, but these creature are more raccoon-like.
Having visited the Sichuan Panda reserve and also hiked thru some of the mountainous terrain gives one a fair idea of the magnitude in Wild China which spreading civilization has now reduced to a mere 5,000 acres of country suitable for Panda habitat. I was lucky to have seen a snow-leopard once in western Yunnan. They are an even more endangered species native to China's forested mountains.

A wonderful classic, beautifully made
Truthfully, we purchased so many DVDs this month, we have not been able to view China, the Panda Adventure; however, I am giving this 5 stars because I saw a portion of it on TV and it looked to be a wonderfully made documentary-type presentation - just the kind I love. Thank you very much for asking.Read full review...
Good Family Movie!
I love pandas! Therefore, I love this movie. It is based on a true story though. It was wonderful to see the completion of a dream. The scenery is fantastic. It makes you want to be there to enjoy the surroundings.Read full review...
