Great children's classic!
One of the most endearing adventure books that I loved as a child as well as the movie. I loved the interaction of kids and adults. The children -who are central to the story- are spoken to as adults by their father and his friend Ms Truly "Scrumptious".
The adventures they take, the troubles they get into trying to free the captive children from a wicked King(dom) and his child catcher who hold captive the people (much like in the Wizard of Oz) and of course the happy ending, all make this a book thoroughly enjoyable to read (and to see on video, wether from the Disney version or the stage play version) and give you and yours memories for a lifetime. 5 stars!
My only negative statement is that it's a shame this talented writer did not write more such stories for children. They would've been enjoyed by millions of people more than the James Bond franchise which he started :( (though I do like the Bond series as well! :)Read full review...
