Christmas With The Kranks

We've watched this movie every year since it was released. More of a ritual than for pleasure. Plot is good but direction is pretty sorry. Jamie Lee Curtis is a personal favorite but misses the mark in this movie. She's always making funny sounds so out of character for her talents or the role. Tim Allen also has much better material under his belt than this one. But, in the Spirit of the Holidays, watch the movie and enjoy what you can. The one shining scene is where Tim Allen's character gives the vacation package to his feisty neighbor and the neighbor's terminally ill wife. Mr. Allen's acting reaches out and tugs at something deep inside. The hardest thing to do these days, is to give something freely, with no ulterior motive. This has got to be funny! Prank.

Hey wow! Tim Allen & Jamie Lee Curtis. Two Great actors! This has got to be good!

Well, Jamie Lee Curtis is usually bold, outgoing, and does extremely well fitting into her roles. In this movie, she's a insecure house wife who hides away(hides her god given talent too). She reminded me of Goofy with the way she laughed. It just wasn't the Jamie everyone knows. Tim Allen. His funny Tanned/Botox injection scene was shortly lived, and might I add pretty much the only funny scene of his in the movie other than him dangling from the roof by a rope. He plays a guy who thinks only of himself, and in the very end changes into Mr. Nice Guy. (I was hoping for, but He didn't do his 'Oh oh oh' thing, like he does in Home Improvment)

Hey, the frozen cat on the icey sidewalk was pretty funny! Poor cat from across the road always gets its tail stepped on for being in their driveway.

I only rate it average because it took so long to work up to the funny parts. What you seen in previews... Those are almost all the funny parts. Granted-It was okay in my opinion, and it came out pretty much the appropriate time of the year, but I was fairly disappointed. I expected more.Read full review...

Fun Family Christmas Movie

Christmas with the Kranks is a fun, light hearted comedy about a man and his wife who decide to "skip" christmas because there only daughter won't be there for the first time. The father played by Tim Allen is totally caught up in the idea of skipping christmas and instead wants to take a cruise christmas day. The mother played by Jamie Lee Curtis is a house wife who is fine with the idea, but has a tough time skipping all the christmas traditions. The day before christmas as they are packing, they get a phone call from their daughter saying she is coming home for christmas! The rest of the movie is them trying to get everything ready for christmas like their idea of skipping it had never occurred. I love this movie because the neighborhood they live on is crazy over christmas. All the decorations in this movie are beautiful and its a good movie for the whole family!!!! Christmas with the Kranks (2005)

If I keep renting movies this bad, the fast-forward button on my remote will be worn out in no time. Kranks is one of the worst holiday movies EVER MADE!!! And that's not saying much!

If you're a Tim Allen fan or a Jamie Lee Curtis fan you might enjoy this movie, but chances are you'll find it just as unfunny and downright ridiculous as I did.

Have you seen the preview for this movie? If you have, you'll have already seen every single funny moment this movie has to offer.

On the plus side, this movie does teach you a valuable lesson about christmas, but so does How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which is a movie you can actually site through without wanting to pull out your eyeballs.

Rent or Buy: Unless you're a Tim Allen or Jamie Lee Curtis fan, or you really enjoy movies where absolutely nothing goes right, and you really need to learn a lesson about the TRUE MEANING of CHRISTMAS, steer clear. But if you're really curious as to what all the fuss is about, save yourself $15 and rent it.

I heard from a friend about the movie Christmas with the Kranks,so I decided to look on EBAy,it is so easy whatever I am looking for from DVD's to clothing or anything else I just type in what I am looking for and it is almost always there. I enjoy DVD's and know I can buy most of what I am looking for.
I bought this movie because I like Tim Allen and I figured this movie would be great to watch. It was a good movie but not what I expected I thought it would have had more comedy in it with Tim being in the movie.Read full review...
