Best Ballet for introducing newcomers to the art

For those unfamiliar with ballet, this is a wonderful introduction. The beauty and grace is mentioned in all the descriptions.
What is less noted is the humor, since the two ugly sisters are danced by men, with Ashton's truly original choreography. Young people or adults who have never watched ballet can appreciate the humor these two "sisters" bring to the production, and people who are laughing are more apt to appreciate the whole experience.
Cranko's "Der widerspenstigen Zähmung" may be even better, but it is not available on DVD, so this production is the one to get.Read full review...

Would not recomend- get something more current

The images are not clear for a DVD certainly not to current standards-more
like VHS quality . Costumes are dated . Dancers are outstanding
