One dadburn good book.
Man, this book has answered a lot of questions I had about banjo's. I have several books and they are so-so as far as instruction but this one is better by far. I Will be ordering the Mastering banjo book for when I get past this one. I got the intermediate level book right now but wish I had the Beginning book back when I started. I expect to see some progress now.

great except for the online content
This could be an awesome instructional method if it were not for the online content. I have tried MANY times to download the video content without success. I contacted the publishers tech support people and was able to download the audio, but I still do not have the video. When your internet signal is as unreliable as mine is, you learn not to count on being able to access a cloud farm when you want to, so you always download everything. This simply cannot be done with this book. I would highly recommend Ned Luberecki as an instructor. I feel like the material is well presented in print, and that this would be the best instructional method on the market today, if they would only enclose a dvd and a cd with the book. Unfortunately the publisher only sees that it is cheaper to produce if the video and audio is not included with the book. They do include a dvd with the beginning book of this series, but not with the intermediate or mastering parts of the series. I would change that if I were them, because I will not buy any method with the audio and video available only online, which means that I will not be a customer of theirs again. Read full review...
