An illiterate moron's misuse of the Conan name to make quick bucks.

First of all, this version of Conan is NOT the Conan of the books. It is NOT a similar version to that of Arnold's depiction, which was actually decently close to the books. This Conan is a silly heavy metal blood and guts concept that makes it obvious the people writing, directing, and producing the movie have NO IDEA WHAT-SO-EVER what Conan is about.

The fact they even chose the title Conan the Barbarian makes this apparent too since each Conan novel had different titles...Conan the Conqueror, Conan the Vengeful, etc. Why not choose their own title for a Conan movie that has nothing to do with the others. It certainly isn't any version of Conan the Barbarian. They didn't read any of the books or even study the background.

The movie is dumb, poorly done, terribly directed, and not entertaining. I sensed some acting talent from the actor portraying Conan but his ability is stifled under the poor direction of Marcus Nispel. Who chose Nispel in the first place?! The guy is a terrible director obsessed with a deathhead gothic cult interpretation of the world that is common in people who drop acid too much.

If you like predictable and unclever copies of other plot lacking blood and guts movies than this you will love. Conan was a smart, educated, immensely strong willed, disciplined, pragmatic, honorable but not morally liberal and naive warrior who made his own luck and followed common sense.

This Conan and even more, the world depicted here, has little to do with the Conan of the books. Should have called it Tim the Barbarian. Why soil the good name of the books or steal points from Arnold's movie which was 100 times better.Read full review...

Good action movie worth buying.

Great action and special efects but sometimes a little exaggereted scenes. I think the 3D copy gives us a much greater impact of the battle scenes making it a bit more realistic, and the special efects a bit more fantastic to the viewer that enjoyes these type of movies. I would like to se a second part with a little mix of what they did in the original first Conan the barberian movie and this one, giving us some fantasy but mostly a realistic story.Read full review...

If you want soft porn, this is the movie- otherwise watch the original.

This is a very fast paced movie with great stunts and awesome effects. The biggest problem I had with it was the inappropriate and blatant scenes of breasts. I enjoyed the original and wanted to see the remake with my son. I had no idea this was a soft porn movie. Very disappointing.Read full review...
