Punk, Soul and Rock blended together

I got this for the only song of theirs I'm familiar with, True. A couple of the other songs are nearly as appealing. I was a bit surprised to find some Punk tunes mixed in. The lead singer Johnette Napolitano has a unique, soulful voice that is rarely found in mainstream bands. The lyrics are written with purpose. Great Lyrics. Strong Tunes!

Even though Johnette and the boys didn't actually "make it" until releasing Joey "Bloodletting" there 3rd full album. Their first full length album has plenty of powerful lyrics and great tunes. this is my favorite concrete blonde album and I must have listened to it thousands of times. Johnette sings all the songs to the fullest with her powerful voice and even more powerful lyrics. Probably one of the greatest song writers of our time...they did not get the recognition they should have.
