Great CD.

This is an awesome CD if you like mellow, laid back music. It is one that I listen to all day at work. It has a nice, settling, and comfortable tempo and the lyrics just flow. It is a must have for a easy listening/contemporary jazz collection. I bought it for the one fast paced song that they play on the radio and that is the one that I pay the least attention to now. After seeing her in concert on DirecTV, it gave me a new appreciation for the CD. I hear it differently after she explained what she was going through when she wrote the songs.Read full review...

Welcome, Corinne Bailey Rae!!!

I don't know if this is Corinne Bailey Rae's first CD or not, but this is the first I've heard, and it is very strong! I caught her performance recently on Saturday Night Live, and immediately had to get the disk. If you combined Norah Jones with Alicia Keyes, you'd get Corinne Bailey Rae. "Put Your Records on" and "Like a Star" are particularly strong, mellow cuts. But "I'd Like To" proves that she can move up-tempo too.

I have to admit, I'd probably never get a whole Norah Jones CD, but Corinne Bailey Rae is a very pleasant surprise.Read full review...

A Must Have

This is an awesome CD! My first time listening to Corinne's single "Just Like A Star" was memorizing! I was an instant fan of her music. I heard nothing but great things about her music and I simply had to find out for myself. I am glad I did purchase her CD. She brings a refreshing new sound to the music world that we so needed. Also, If you are a Billy Holiday fan, she has very similar sound to her voice that makes it that more enjoyable to listen to. Her clarity in song delivery is outstanding. The lyrics are on point and defy her age. Her soul's sounds are both stirring and joyful. Each piece is so poetic and so masterfully presented by well thought out orchestration and vocal accompaniment. Look out America...Corrine has arrived!

I had never heard of this talented singer till she was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live last weekend. Wow, both my husband and I just stopped and stared at this gorgeous girl with the fresh voice. "Who is she??" we wondered...I loved both songs she sang that night and decided to go out and get her CD the following day. This album is wonderful from start to finish. Great R&B/Soul Album

I cannot say how much I love this album, and it is actually my first r&b/soul album. I am more of a rock person, but when I heard Corinne's music, it totally made me wanna go out and buy it, so I did. I love the music of this talented young woman. It is a must have for my collection of music. I highly recommend this CD for anyone who is looking for something different, original, and entertaining. Corinne Bailey Rae is an breath of fresh air. I haven't heard music like hers in a very long time. She has a life long listener. I pop in her cd and let it play from beginning to end.
