Not Vinyl, But sturdy
This helmet is not made of vinyl like the old don post versions. it is actually a thin vacuform shell with a styrofoam core insert to make it stiffer. However, it is lined with fabric-lined padding and the visor is rather nice. This foam also makes it very lightweight and easier on one's neck. As far as a screen-accurate collectible goes, you may want to look elsewhere, but for $40 or so dollars I really can't complain!Read full review...

Rubies X-Wing Helmet
This is a pretty good but not great helmet. It looks pretty nice. The helmet is a bit too big. I suppose it will look good if you are about 6'4 and 250lbs. My real gripe is that the plastic is a really cheap. Children's toys cost less and are way more sturdy. I feel this product is a bit over-priced given the quality. I paid about $60 for it, and I have seen it going for much more. Unfortunately, it's also the only decent looking X-Wing helmet available if you are on a budget. Looks great, fragile as an eggshell.
The is polystyrene like a solo plastic cup. You can poke a hole thru it with a finger , not a collectable. Certainly not worth more than 50.00$ plus shipping. I got it for 90.00$, and have seen it at 200.00$ Good and light for a costume, and a cheap fast alternative for cosplay. But this is sensitive to heat, light, cold. It isn't a toy or even a replica, it is a "Rubies" polystyrene mask. Don't let any Disney or Lucas Arts labels fool ya. It looks great, keep it in a dark room next to a Mattel Boba Fett or a Black Series Poe Dameron and it looks good. Eventually I'll get a custom, or a modded motorcycle helmet at 179$ it ain't that much more right? But eventually my kids are gonna drop this, or crack it playing. Or just sit on it. It looks amazing, but it isn't a Post mask, POTF, or certainly not a Black Series. It is a good looking cheap knock off, licensed by Disney./Lucas and those companies have serious quality control issues when they sub-contract.Read full review...

I had the helmet that came with the kids version of the X-Wing fighter costume, the one that is 2 halves... its okay but kind of a pain to keep together. Our grandson can just about wear adult baseball caps so decided to take a chance on this upscale version. Especially after someone else posted they were so pleased that they bought TWO- I really want to thank them for their feedback as I am so glad we decided to buy one. It will look so much nicer and he is going to be thrilled out of his mind. He was already wearing the kids one all around the house, This is So Much Nicer.
