last show for a good time (37 years)

I always enyoy reading reviews of this bands live work. Idiot music critics and the like take potshots at a form of sonic conversation that only intelligent and open minded people can understand. If you really want to know an educated opinion of this music, ask someone who plays a guitar, bass or drums what they think. (jimi hendrix loved cream, and would bring his band to hear them) I have showed this concert to friends who simply did not understand it, and others(mostly musicians like myself) who told me it was the most powerful musical experience they had ever encountered. So keep an open mind and except the performance for what it is, three brilliant trailblazers of an important and rare form of art.

once upon a time

When I saw this DVD saying Cream Farewell concert I knew I had to have it
as a guitarist/musician over the years my band when still active
played a lot of Cream tunes, that said what I liked about this disc
yes it is one disc were the eight better known songs on it as well
as the interviews with all three band members much of which is not common
knowledge.this was a precursor of buying the other concert in the same
hall in May 2005 which I have and have submitted my review on
dislikes!
the image quality could have been better although it could just be
my DVD player
other than that little miscue this 127 mintute disc is totally enjoyable
with all the behind the scenes knowledge it provides
bought to fill in their set i.e. other May concert

Musicians will love it

What I love about it is the actual musicians. The reason I bought it was that I had just finished Eric Clapton's auto biography and he had talked about that concert in particular.

I'm a drummer and I would have liked to see more of Ginger's playing then head shots.

Plenty of interview time to see their thoughts and feelings at the time which is great.

Remember how old this performance is....

Well.... I'm a Cream Fan, but this is hard to watch. There is a voice over by some unseen announcer who talks like we are all somebody's parents who need this explained to us. The camera work is horrible. The sound is OK. The best part is some back stage interviews where each player demonstrates their instrument. This alone is worth the purchase price. I now remember we were all high when we first fell in love with this music.... I listen to it now and wonder why.Read full review...

Cream Farewell Concert

This is a cool DVD.The only drag is that these directors back in the 1960's didn't have a clue,as to what would keep there film from being dated. This fool used that pychodelic in/out trip panning, and never showed Clapton play a lead solo.Every thing was on Jack Bruce, only head shots of E.C. But he music is GREAT I whish there were more of these type films that you could buy,Like Jimi, and the Stones, Jeff Beck, ect.Read full review...

Worth it!

A good quality DVD made from poor quality data; but hey! that's the best they could do in the late 60's.
Albert Hall was not a good rock venue and the guy interviewing the band tries real hard but just doesnt get it. It's a must-own for the entertainment value, seeing Baker, Bruce and Clapton in their 20's and an insight into live music in the 60's.Read full review...

Cream - Farewell Concert (DVD, 2005, Extended Edition

Loved the old sound but the camera men were on lsd or something, they rarely showed the whole group playing .. too many close-ups of these guys.. REALLY..
