Wonderful Upgrade!

Item works very well! I replaced a 1TB HDD on a MacBook Pro late 2011 13” with El Captain OS (16gb RAM, 2.8 ghz i7 model). This Crucial SSD was easy to replace in the existing framework/hardware of the laptop. Screaming Fast! Better than expected!

I researched several different SSD drives before deciding on this one, I expected it to perform like my other SSD drives, but I was really surprised at the difference with this one! I am using it for Video editing on Linux Zorin, and immediately I noticed it boots 10 times as fast as my other drives, it jumps right past the splash screen! Like BANG! It's booted! When I render my Videos in 4k the time is like 1/4 of the time it takes with my other drives! Great Hardware!

I put this drive in my older gaming laptop. These days I use it as a backup to my desktop and for tele-health appointments as it has the webcam and mic. The old drive was a 1TB 7200 rpm model. The machine boots in under 20 seconds now and the games load in less than half the time they used to. Crucial Makes Great SSD's

This Crucial SSD is a very good product. It's definitely worth the money. It was cloned from a hybrid drive for an HP Pavilion dv7, but the laptop had a HD controller issue on the motherboard that could not be fixed. The drive ended up in a Samsung laptop of an older vintage and it still worked with no issues. Techs said with different BIOS's on the two laptops it wouldn't work. Not!Read full review
