This SSD replaced a drive that was clicking, ("the click of death"). The old drive back up and restore worked flawlessly to this new drive. Extra bonus! The laptop runs very cool now, before it was real warm on the bottom. Much faster as expected, and silent. The third HD I've installed in this machine. It is used in travel, bouncing around in the truck, exposed to the cold or hot of the weather. Sometimes direct sun as equipment I work on is exposed. I use an older Dell laptop as it was inexpensive and does what I need. Decided to upgrade to SSD as I've

A lot faster than HDD.

I could not transfer the info. from my HDD to this SSD so I ended up with new Windows 10 Home edition. I copied everything personal off old hard drive to USB and then went to Microsoft and used the Instillation Media to USB to make new Windows 10. Make sure you format the new SSD though.
