Different lid than my old DGB-600BC

I was so happy to find a factory refurbished Cuisinart DGB-600BC coffee maker. Our 10+ yr old model had begun to leak if left overnight in programmed mode. This replacement worked great the first 4 times we used it. Then it would leave brown stains on the counter which indicated to me that it was making coffee but something was leaking or overflowing. The basket showed no signs of overflow and the carafe was fine. Turned out the lid was different than my old machine's lid. I still had the old machine and used its lid on the new machine and it works great now.Read full review...

Makes great coffee! Adds style to the countertop!

I bought this model to replace another Cuisinart Grind & Brew 12 cup coffee maker because I upgraded to granite counter tops and the stainless steel worked better. As far as performance, I wasn't sure the thermal carafe would keep the coffee hot for a long period like my previous model which has the warming plate, but I was amazed to find out the carafe kept the coffee hot throughout the morning and afternoon and even warm well into the late evening. Like many who have this unit, I frown when it comes time to cleaning all of the parts, but the process is not that bad if you clean them soon after making coffee saving the carafe for later when it is empty. In addition, I think the concept of grinding, filtering water, and brewing coffee in a single unit is great. I know the grinder is a bit loud, but most grinders are! In this unit, you don't have to have a separate grinder or have to grind before you're ready to brew. Freshly ground (beans) will make for a fresh pot of coffee. So, it you can get over the "turbo" sounds of the grinder and cleaning the many parts after each part, this coffee maker make be a great choice for you. And, it would make another nice addition to your other stainless steel appliances, if you have them.Read full review...

Great Coffee but leaks water

A great design and easy to use. Best feature is the stainless steel carafe. Coffee stays warm with continuous heating. Integrated grinder is great too. I just had to throw out our five year old model. It sprang a leak about two years ago. The leak was in the metal tubing in the bottom. I was able to patch it with high temperature paint and that helped for awhile. I'm looking for another one but given our experience I would avoid used ones.Read full review...

Great Cup of Joe and Excellent Customer Service

I work from home and admit to a coffee addiction. I drink it all day every day and while I always ground my own beans, I grew tired of the 2 hour shut off on most pots. I love the fact I can set this up the night before and have fresh ground and brewed coffee each morning that stays hot the whole day. Many have expressed their frustration with the number of parts to clean, and while I think that is an improvement Cusinart could make it has not deterred me from this model.

I had some trouble with the pot overflowing while brewing over a year after purchasing the machine. One call to Cuisinart and very few questions asked and they sent me a whole new machine. You don't find customer service like that everyday!

Cuisinart DGB-600 10-Cup Coffee Maker

this is a good coffee maker, makes good coffee. the grinder feature is handy and it works well, but the coffee making process vents steam into the grinder making it necessary to clean the sticky grinder every time after use. kind of a hassle.
we own 2 of these units; with the first one the filter compartment kept popping open during brewing and dumped water all over. serious hassle, seriously irritating. should have sent it back but was too lazy. second unit, no problems.
cuisinart makes nice looking coffee makers, but they don't hold up the best. but for some reason we keep buying them. hope this one lasts.

Cuisinart DGB-600 10-Cup Coffee Maker

I bought my Cuisinart DGB-600 10-Cup Coffee Maker to replace my old coffee maker 2 months ago. I like the grind feature because it frees up space on my counter top. The only drawback is the grinder has to be cleaned every time I use it because condensation builds up in it up between uses. I'm please with the appearance and functionality of the coffee maker and glad I got it at such a great price on Ebay!Read full review...

Good for coffee.....great for convenience!

If you like to wake up in the morning and have freshly brewed coffee made with freshly ground beans all ready and waiting for you then this could be the machine for you!
This Cuisinart Coffee maker has a built in grinder....simply pop in the beans the night before, set the timer and you will wake up with a pot of steaming hot coffee....and it stays hot because another wonderful feature of this machine is the thermal carafe which keeps coffee warm well into the day!
It has a program that lets you determine how much coffee you want, and a built in charcoal filter so even if the water you start with isn't the greatest thing that should be coming out of the tap, it removes impurities such as chlorine which could affect the quality of your coffee.
The very feature that keeps your coffee so hot - the thermal carafe...does present problems in knowing exactly how much coffee you have left. It is not a problem for us as we fill it with enough to fill our travel mugs and do not care how much is left but if you had guests it may be tough to know how much is in the pot!
The grinder can be removed to clean....and PLEASE CLEAN THE GRINDER....if you do not remove all the internal parts on a regular basis this machine will clog and it breaks down very quickly thereafter...we had that happen, but liked it enough to purchase another one, but I do not think this will stand up to daily use long term as some of the internal parts are rather flimsy.
For the price however, the coffee and convenience of having it ready each morning, cannot be matched!

Attractive Coffee Grinder/Maker But Pricey With Flaws

I acquired two model DGB-600's at the same time and have used both of them every day for over three years. I'll list the good and the bad in hopes that it may help some of you.
The good:
1. They look impressive.
2. The dual-insulated pot keeps the brewed coffee warm longer than regular glass containers.
3. You can conveniently grind and brew all in one machine.
4. The units are capable of brewing an excellent cup of coffee.
The bad:
1. The purchase price is much higher than several other machines having the same or similar functions.
2. There is no heating element under the carafe and the brewed coffee is not exceptionally hot. If you want hot coffee, you will need to use other heating means (i.e. microwave).
3. The grinder motors do not hold up well. Both have broken on my machines even though I carefully cleaned them on a daily basis!
4. The units are more difficult and time-consuming to clean than comparable units.
5. Replacement water filters are pricy and need to be replaced often.
6. The lids on the carafes do not come apart for cleaning. Eventually the entry ball will collect small coffee particles and oils, stick, and therefore will NOT allow coffee to enter the carafe. Like coffee all over your kitchen counter? Well there it will be. I was able to eliminate this problem by inserting q-tips into the small entrance hole and removing the debris from the lid entrance ball. This MUST be done on a regular basis.
If you just want a fancy looking machine sitting on your counter-top to impress your friends and neighbors then this unit is for you. If not, there are far more reliable cheaper options that are capable of brewing as good if not a hotter better cup of coffee. I will not purchase one of these makers again.

Nice appliance!

It is a beautiful, well made coffee maker. The built-in grinder feature is great. I'd prefer to be able to choose our grinds, but it comes with one grind size and that's all it does - medium. If you want your coffee to stay hot longer in the carafe, then it is WISE and a MUST to run hot water through the carafe. For the price and features, I'd buy it again and again. I gave it a good review vs. excellent, because it is not perfect, but it is GOOD!Read full review...

Good cup of Joe

We've had this unit for a little over a year now and overall I've been pleased but not wowed with this.

The Good

- The automatic timer is a cool feature. It's especially useful when I have an early morning mountain bike ride, it's nice to be greeted with a hot cup as soon as I wake up.
- This unit is good for when guests come over and you have to brew multiple cups
- The carafe keeps the coffee nice and warm.

The Bad

- If you try and grind beans for 10 cups, the coffee tends to get clogged up. I've found that 15 level tablespoons is a good amount for 8 cups of coffee.
- Cleaning is a chore, but that's why most people go to a coffee shop to get their coffee right?
