Grusin Great Again

As a jazz aficionado, I’ve always enjoyed Dave Grusin’s music. Not only does my taste in jazz usually run the gamut from smooth to outer extremes but also soundtracks. I remember reading somewhere that Grusin got into soundtrack music in order to support his label GRP records. His titles have never disappointed me and he continues with The Cure. In his own style Grusin is able to transition from southern melodies to melancholy motifs. This injects a certain wistfulness which encapsulates the main theme of a friendship between two young boys. Even if you were to read what the movie was about and not having seen it , his music projects emotions that are sincere in their plot points. I’ve never been disappointed in Grusin’s music and neither will you.Read full review...
