No brainer...plug and play and very noticeable increase in speed!

What can you say, just plug and play. We have 8 computers on a WIN 7 network, time clock, several network printers, and soon a PTZ camera. I just upgraded from a 10/100 to this SWITCH last week and the users right away said they could see the increase in speed. Keep in mind this is not a ROUTER so you will still need a router to “feed” this switch. Also remember that you will lose 2 ports between the two units. All you do is jump the number 4 port on your router to the number 1 port on this switch and you have 15 more places to plug in. So if you need 20 ports this will not provide that because in the end you will have 18 total available ports. If you need a full 20 just buy 2 and you can have 33 total for future growth.Read full review...

D Link 16 port switch

I get wary when a "new" product has been opened, so I don't really know if it's new or used. It appears new and works great at a good price, so I am happy with it.

I bought it to relieve the wireless load on my router. I usually have about 25 wireless devices. This switch solved my bandwidth problem. Took security cams off wireless and into the switch, wala....load on router solved. Easy setup, no instructions needed. Just plug a router port anywhere into it and plug in the rest of your wired devices. Works PERFECT! Don't be intimidated by technology, this one is easy. D-Link does it right yet again.

I have used D-Link almost exclusively since I started doing home networks in the mid to late 90's. Everytime I stray, and forced to do an RMA for other brands, I remember WHY I stay with D-Link. This 16 Port Gigabit switch is yet another great product from D-Link. It does do what it says and shuts down activity on any port that is NOT active. Shut off your PC and link light stays on and activity light goes dark. With the DGS-1016D you not only get D-link reliability but you also get a lifetime warranty. I like that it had 16 ports, doesn't have to be managed, 32GB switch fabric & 512 Kb packet buffer memory per port for the price.
