A True Masterpiece!!!

If Silent Hill was flooded, it would be a lot like the town in this movie. The effects are extra creepy and the lead role does a solid acting job. I have to say this is probably Stuart Gordon's best film yet. After you get through the slow beginning it doesn't let up on the action, the gore, or the creepfest full of exciting, bizarre creatures and cults. Fun and engaging, Lovecraftian horror.

Fantastic film. Though it says it's Dagon, it could really be considered the Horror Over Innsmouth. Great deal.

worth it if you're a horror fan. not too bad at all.

Not a horrible movie if you can look past mediocre acting. The environment and just immersing yourself in the location is enough to give you the chills. I've always been interested in H.P. Lovecraft but not exactly an expert. I believe he wrote a story entitled Dagon but this movie isn't a representation of that exact story. From what I understand, but I have yet to read his work. Either way, it's an enjoyable movie if you can look past the hammy acting.Read full review...

Better than most

This one is surely one of the best Lovecraft inspired movies (has seen a lot).
Actors are good, story is good, quality of sound and image is good.

But, there is just that little thing missing to make it perfect.
Some special effects where not so good. The "monstergirl" could be a little better. Thats why 4/5.Read full review...

An Enjoyable Watch

I received a nice, new, factory sealed copy of this DVD from the vendor. It's a loose adaptation of Lovecraft's Shadow over Innsmouth. The film has much creepier and more Lovecraftian feel than Reanimator. The special effects are pretty good for a lower budget movie.
