Epic SNES Shooter

I have been arguing with my kids on the value of a good shooter. These days everyone is focused on the first person, but in the 80's and 90's it was the 3rd person shooter that had gamers pumped! Darius Twin for the Super Nintendo is one of the best, most compelling shooters I've played in a long time, and I have been a gamer for awhile now.
First, the graphics utilize the full 32-bit capabilities of the SNES, and each level brims with colors. Each sprite adds character to the game, and you'd be hard pressed to find too many games with better graphics in the era.
Second, the gameplay is both exhilarating and exasperating. Enemies come out of every orifice and from every side of the map. Additionally, this is a two-player co-op game, of which there are almost none these days. There is much to be said about plopping down next to a friend or sibling and just playing right next to each other!!!

You should definitely try this game out. 10/10

not the best darius

there are better darius games from this era.

sagaia on sega genesis is a pretty close representation of darius 2. darius gaiden and darius 2 on the sega saturn are definitely the best darius games you can get at home. pretty much perfect darius arcade experiences.

this game is much cheaper than the others, and you can tell why. slower gameplay, and less levels than all the others noted above. animations seem copier. but still, its one of the better aracde shooters for the snes.

Darius Twin Double the Fun

Play this as a team with a sibling or friend flying your Silver Hawks against enemy ships. Collect three different types of colored power-ups to improve your weapons and shields. The graphics are impressive showing what the Super Nintendo could do early in its infancy.. Equally impressive is the music by Norihiro Furukawa and Pochi. Worth playing and adding to your collection for nostalgia.Read full review
