A Promising Delivery For Fans of The Original!!!!!!!!!!

I always find the most helpful reviews provide PROS and CONS then a quick overview. So here it goes:

PROS:

- Memorable and creative story line.

- Outstanding graphics.

- Incredible sound and music!! You have to play this on a great surround system.

- Super scary!! I never jump at horror movies, but this game make me jump!

CONS:

- Sadly I ran into a few bugs. about 6-7 times standing in corners in elevators my character fell through the floor and was stuck. SAVE OFTEN!!!!!!

- Multilayer is a little weak. It's just like Left 4 Dead but in third person.

- If you're the type of gamer who loves to breeze through games with little effort this game is not for you. I love the challenge personally but I can see others getting frustrated because all they want to do is run and gun.

Helpful Tips

ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE USING AN ANODE TO OPEN A SPECIAL ROOM!!
Items appear randomly so you can waste an anode for bogus loot.
If you get crappy loot just load and try again and you'll get something far better. Also on the increased difficulty settings your given limited ammo, so if you're not careful be prepared to face hours of frustration searching every crevice without a good defense. Hope this helps!! Good Luck!

OVERVIEW:

Dead Space 2 is one of those rare games that with the right sound system will terrorize you by jumping in fear frequently. If you're the kind of gamer who loves this experience than this is for you. I love this game because it pushes you into rationing your every move, as if I was there myself. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time not knowing what's coming out of every corner. The Dead Space team did a wonderful job on the story. With those who pay attention to the powerful metaphor, there is a deeper message that connects the story in what's going on today. I was intrigued by the multilayer function on xbox live, in my opinion the fun doesn't last that long. I would give this 5/5 if it weren't for a few buggy moments. Great Shooting Game Great Graphics

Dead Space's world is industrial science fiction, a universe where space has been conquered through the ideas of engineers and exploited by the greed of corporations; its environments reflect this. The huge clanking gears, whirring turbines, and slamming pistons take centre-stage for some of the best-looking set-pieces, but the rest of the time the dull hum of machinery is the backdrop.

A big part of the ambience are the hisses of steam and dull bangs of industry, which are no presage but still make you jump twenty feet. On that note, a word for the audio design. The Dolby surround effects do more than anything to foster paranoia - as Isaac moves through the station, skittering noises seem to follow him, stopping when he does. Weird groans ring out from rooms that you know are empty.

Someone on the periphery of your hearing keeps muttering "Isaac... Isaac..." It's freaky stuff, but the genius touch is how it alternates between set-ups and fake-outs: at times you're utterly convinced Isaac is surrounded, they're all just waiting to burst out, and your hands are clenching the pad so hard they're white. Scary thriller that delivers!

I was sad that I couldn't play online AT ALL without an unused pass code($9.99) because I bought this game used, but overall my single player gaming experience was insane. Playing at night, alone, and in the dark is one of the most creepiest experiences ever. Things jump out at you and weird noises echo throughout the game. This is a really good game and for those who never played the first dead space, like me, there are tutorials to help you with controls. I just wish they would at least let you play some of the modes online for free. I mean they tease you with a two day trial but come on....is this what the world of gaming is coming to? Just as awesome as I remembered back in 2011!

If you like horror games with a sci-fi element to it, you'd be hard pressed to find some epic classics better than Dead Space 1 and 2. Just play them, you won't regret it!

great game,worth the money!

having just survived aboard the USG ISHIMURA isaac clarke is in another fight for survival against the necromorphs(weird alien things)this game is good overall worth the money but they use the same aliens and the same guns from the first one.SPOILER ALERT in fact some of the levels are not even new,chapter 10 takes place aboard the USG ISHIMURA,hmm.also the entire time you are playing nicole(died in the first one)keeps talking to you in a weird creepy voice. its kind of annoying,to me.the online gameplay for this game is great but the downside is that you need a code to play online.this game is 10 times creeper than the first one plus the limeted edition comes with dead space extraction prequel to the first dead space overall great game worth the money 4/5Read full review...

OMG Amazing Game Nothing Else Like It!!!

This Game is Honestly one of the best that I have ever played. What really got me was the realism of the game it felt like I was really there. It did unfortunately cause alot of PTSD Flashbacks from when I myself was a miner. I only recently retired after mining on a new planet and running into a strange rock we named the Marker. Then my best friend David after coming into contact with this "Marker" turned into a sort zombie alien parasite and chased me into a tree. After spending many hours there i decided i could take it no longer and jumped down and chopped him into pieces with a plasma cutter. I was then rescued by a hot chick in a space shuttle and we flew into space. I will miss by best friend but in my defense he did try to eat me.
