Great very underrated game, worth buying,

I heard this game being bashed by some fighting game fans, or should I say Tekken fans on youtube. Saw this game for a reasonably low price a few days ago and looked it up. Prior to this I had only played DOA 2 on the Dreamcast and 3 on the XBOX. DOA 2 I loved DOA 3 not so much. I had heard this game called underrated, and it is. Its pretty fun, the story is entertaining not perfect but very good compared to most recent games. The cast of characters is not huge, but it is sufficient. The game is much more serious a fighter than it is given credit, especialy by people who never even played it. Its not at the level of greatness of Marvel VS Capcom 2 Soul Calibur or Mortal Kombat(9), but it comes closer to it than Marvel VS Capcom 3 (the Shaq Fu of our time) and Soul Calibur V (could have been so much better). I barely noticed fan service. It still has its moments but nothing too inappropriate or offensive. Its learning curve is pretty friendly to newcomers.It is not a difficult game, but ive played a fairly large amount of fighting games. In other words not many fighting games are hard for me. The only draw back I saw was the Arcade game mode is pretty easy, and a lack of different modes. A huge plus is being able to unlock things such as new characters by progressing in the story mode. Great fighting game, very fluid and just a blast to play.

Bought this product because I'm a big fan of fighting games and the last I played was Soul Calibur 4. I gotta say, Dead or Alive 5 has been a revelation for me. The fighting is extremely smooth, the controls are easy to learn, but the depth of all the characters makes the game immensely difficult (fun) to master.

What I really do not like, is the online feature. It is just very very laggy. The story line is weak as well, but I don't buy fighting games for the story

All in all, this game is great for those who want to pick up and just play, and also fantastic for those that want a deep fighting game experience due to the extensive move lists of all the players.Read full review...

Great fighting game! This is a must buy!

I've played the past titles in the series and was happy to see a new DOA game release. DOA 5 has a great roster of fighters available to choose from. There are many returning game modes including a new story that can be played through. Also has a good variety of levels to battle in. The counter system has changed which takes some getting used to. Great game and awesome boobs.

The game is incredibly beautiful. The characters models are amazingly well made and the new addition of sweat, water and dirty to the characters is really cool.
The gameplay is fast paced, engaging and entertaining. My only complaint is the cheapness of the AI, making the game excessively hard sometimes.
The story leaves to be desired, but it is good for a fighting game.
I don't play online much, so I can't review on that matter, but the one fight I had seemed lag-free.
In summary, a must-have for Dead or Alive fans or fighting game fans in general.Read full review...

A new series of DOA game with some improvement!

This time, though the story line is still not so clear, but there is some connection between with each character.

The fighting system is the same as the second and the fourth games. (I have not played the third one yet.)

This time, a critical move is added to each character when the HP bar is glowing red, which starts when you loss 1/3 blood.

Overall, graphic is improved, each character has facial progression, more macture than previous models. Hardness is the same.
